A key tenet of the Transactional Interpretation of Quantum Mechanics is the idea that photon absorption localizes the absorbing material system. In doing so, it measures the location of the absorber and hence reduces information entropy which in turn needs to be balanced by appropriate entropy production, if there is a link between information entropy and thermodynamic entropy. Based on a critical analysis of the physics of information erasure, we clarify the link between information and thermodynamic entropy and develop a rigorous model of entropy production in photon-absorption processes.

It is shown that it is possible to retrieve information that is relevant to the travel time between the receivers. With thousands of short time cross-correlations (10 s) of varying distance, it is shown that on average, the decrease in amplitude of the noise correlation function with increased separation follows a power law.

The literature on predictors of who develops posttraumatic stress symptoms (PSS) suggests that both vulnerability and birth factors have an influence, but many studies measure predictors and outcomes simultaneously.
Objective: In this context, we aimed to examine indirect and direct effects of predictors of PSS, which were measured longitudinally.
In the last few years, the concepts of disease elimination and eradication have again gained consideration from the global health community, with Guinea worm disease (dracunculiasis) on track to become the first parasitic disease to be eradicated. Given the many complex and interlinking issues involved in committing to a disease eradication initiative, such commitments must be based on a solid assessment of a broad range of factors. In this chapter, we discuss the value and implications of undertaking a systematic and fact-based analysis of the overall situation prior to embarking on an elimination or eradication programme.

Oxytocin is considered to play a key role in mother-infant bonding and social interactions and altered oxytocin plasma concentrations were found to be associated with PPD.
