This planned mixed methods protocol is designed to explore oral health care for individuals living with serious mental health conditions (SMHC). It was co-produced by academics, people with lived experience of mental health conditions, and oral and mental health clinicians. The study seeks to explore oral health quality of life predictors and oral health care experiences of people diagnosed with serious mental health conditions (e.

Purpose: Compressive neuropathies such as carpal tunnel and cubital tunnel syndrome can lead to sensation loss, muscle weakness, joint contractures, and disrupted sleep. The interplay between these conditions and the effect on patients' intimacy is unknown. The purpose of this study was to examine sexual function before and after surgery in patients undergoing carpal tunnel release or cubital tunnel release.

We identified potent lipophilic small interfering RNA (siRNA) conjugates targeting highly conserved regions of SARS-CoV-2 outside of the spike-encoding region capable of achieving ≥3-log viral reduction. Serial passaging studies demonstrated that a two-siRNA combination prevented development of resistance compared to a single siRNA approach.

To better understand how cold intolerance evolves in the setting of digital nerve injuries, a sub-analysis of a trial comparing conduit-based (CONDUIT) and processed nerve allograft (PNA) repairs was conducted. It was hypothesized that PNA repairs would alleviate cold intolerance more effectively, especially for longer nerve gaps.

Mean carbohydrate intake across match-play was 17 ± 11 g.h with players demonstrating a preference towards CHO-containing fluids (58%) when compared with semi-solids (38%) and solids (14%), respectively.

The production and sales of lithium-ion batteries (LIB) are rapidly expanding nowadays, causing a significant impact on the consumption of critical raw materials, such as lithium. Thus, developing and improving methods for the separation and recovery of materials from LIBs is necessary to ensure the supply of critical raw materials, as well as to meet the recycling targets set by some countries. This study evaluated and compared two mechanical routes to concentrate materials of LiFePO (LPF) cells.

The present research compares the motivational correlates (through values) of collective narcissism in ethnic groups of different status (advantaged and disadvantaged) and explores its associations with attitudes towards, and intention to engage in collective action. Three studies examined these processes in different national and intergroup contexts (total N = 16,275).

Methods: A prospective case series was performed on all arthroscopic total trapeziectomy procedures for thumb basal joint arthrosis between 2018 and 2022. Patients were followed for up to 1 year.
Purpose: Forearm shaft fractures of the radius and/or ulna are typically repaired with plates and screws, with 3.5 mm nonlocking screws being generally recommended. However, smaller plates and screws, either nonlocking or locking, can also be applied.

However, certain situations may require a rapid angiotensin increase. The REVERSIR (RVR) - reverse siRNA silencing technology a potential approach to counteract siRNA effects.

Purpose: Metacarpal fractures are common injuries of the hand that often require operative repair. However, there is a paucity of data regarding the rate of reoperation and circumstances following metacarpal repair.
Methods: A retrospective review of all metacarpal fracture cases performed at a single academic institution between 2017 and 2021 was performed.
Purpose: Opioid stewardship ensures effective pain management while avoiding overprescribing of opioids after surgery. This prospective randomized study investigates the efficacy of a multimodal postoperative pain regimen compared to a traditional opioid-only pain regimen following elective outpatient orthopedic hand surgery. We hypothesized that patients receiving multimodal pain management would consume fewer opioids and report greater satisfaction than patients receiving only opioids.

Purpose: There is no consensus regarding optimal closure for trigger finger release (TFR) surgery. The purpose of this study was to compare the number of postoperative visits and complications following TFR closure with nonabsorbable sutures versus those following TFR closure with absorbable sutures and skin glue. The hypothesis was that wound closure with absorbable sutures and glue will result in fewer postoperative visits, while having similar complication rates as that with nonabsorbable sutures.

We secondarily aimed to assess the differences in reoperation and hardware removal rates after ulnar shortening osteotomy (USO).
Methods: A retrospective cohort study of patients undergoing ulnar shortening osteotomy between 2015 and 2022 in our institute amongst 17 providers resulted in 92 consecutive patients.
Introduction: Despite the interconnectedness of the European Union, there are significant variations in pregnant women's legal status as migrants and therefore their ability to access maternity care. Limited access to maternity care can lead to higher morbidity and mortality rates in migrant women and their babies. This study aimed to investigate and compare maternal health access policies and the context in which they operate across European countries for women who have migrated and are not considered citizens of the host country.

To counter this, we developed a new approach to modulate the AR and inhibit castration-resistant prostate cancer (CRPC) using multivalent peptoid conjugates (MPC) that contain multiple copies of the AR-targeting ligand ethisterone attached to a peptidomimetic scaffold. Here, we investigated the antitumor effects of compound MPC309, a trivalent display of ethisterone conjugated to a peptoid oligomer backbone that binds to the AR with nanomolar affinity.

This study evaluates the incidence rates and treatment options, both surgically and nonsurgically, for patients presenting with pickleball/paddleball-related injuries. Methods A retrospective database search of our multispecialty, multilocation electronic medical record (EMR) system from 2015 to 2022 identified 204 patients with outpatient pickleball- and paddleball-related injuries.
