Percutaneous iliosacral screw fixation in unstable pelvic fractures.

Surgical treatment of unstable pelvic fractures Type C, has a vertical instability that is not controlled by traction and supine; therefore, orthopedic and functional treatments undertaken by default are sources of complications. The closed reduction with percutaneous sacroiliac fixation solves the problem of vertical instability; but at the cost of learning the method. Five patients with unstable pelvic fractures; were treated by percutaneous sacroiliac fixation.

Talalgie is one of the most common symptoms involving the foot. Intra-bone lipoma is one of the most rare bone tumors of the calcaneus. We report the case of a patient presenting with intermittent and spontaneous chronic heel pain.

Transperitoneal Laparoscopic Pyelopyelostomy for Retrocaval Ureter without Excision of the Retrocaval Segment: Experience on Three Cases.

Introduction. Retrocaval ureter is a rare congenital anomaly. Open surgery was the classic treatment for this condition.

Neglected bilateral rupture of the patellar tendon: A case report.

Simultaneous bilateral rupture of the patellar tendon (PT) is extremely rare and is generally associated to some chronic diseases. When the rupture becomes chronic, it is more difficult to repair that as it remained untreated. The diagnosis, which is clinical, is often delayed, guided by standard radiography and confirmed by ultrasound or MRI.

Percutaneous endoscopic nephropexy with a percutaneous suture passed through the kidney.

Objectives: To report a technique of percutaneous endoscopic nephropexy, using a polyglactin suture passed through the kidney, in patients with nephroptosis.

Patients And Methods: Four women presenting with symptomatic right nephroptosis underwent a percutaneous endoscopic nephropexy. An upper-pole calyx was accessed percutaneously and a 24-F working sheath was placed.

Transurethral transvesical endoscopic management of a retrovesical hydatid cyst.

We present a technique of transurethral transvesical endoscopic management of an intraperitoneal retrovesical hydatid cyst. Cystoscopy is performed using a 20.8F nephroscope.

The split-leg modified lateral position for percutaneous renal surgery and optimal retrograde access to the upper urinary tract.

Objectives: To present our experience with percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL) in the split-leg modified lateral position.

Material And Method: The patient is placed with the thorax in the lateral position and the pelvis in an oblique position. Then the lower limbs are split and bent in the lowest position.

A vacuum cleaner for the pelvicalyceal system during percutaneous nephrolithotomy.

Removing small stones, fragments and debris, clots, or clusters of small stones can be bothersome and time consuming. We perform a technique to sweep out fragments from the kidney during percutaneous nephrolithotomy using suction. The nephroscope is used as a vacuum cleaner by adapting the suction tube to the nephroscope operating channel.

[Leiomyosarcoma of the bladder].

Bladder leiomyosarcoma is an uncommon tumour. Early diagnosis and aggressive surgical treatment are necessary to ensure patient survival. The authors report a case of bladder leiomyosarcoma treated by radical cystoprostatectomy and enterocystoplasty with a favourable outcome at 32 months.

The floating metatarsal. A rare traumatic injury.

The authors report a case of concomitant plantar Lisfranc dislocation and plantar metatarsophalangeal dislocation of the hallux. This is the second case of floating metatarsal described in the literature. When examining patients with Lisfranc joint injuries, one should explore carefully the metatarsophalangeal joints.

[Ureteral adenocarcinoma in men: a case report].

Adenocarcinoma of urethra is a rare tumour, which occurs more often in female than in male. The localizations on bulbomenbranous urethra, most frequent, have worse prognostic than those of penile urethra. Because of scarcity of these tumours there is not therapeutic consensus.

[Metastatic cerebral abscess from Klebsiella pneumoniae after extracorporal shock wave lithotripsy for kidney stone (a case report)].

Extra-corporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy (ESWL) is widely used to treat urinary calculi. With increasing numbers of ESWL, more patients prone to infectious complications. A 62-year-old man presented with cerebral abscess following ESWL.

[Pseudosarcomatous fibromyxoid tumor of the prostate: report of a case].

The authors report a case of pseudosarcomatous fibromyxoid tumor of the prostate. It is always a benign lesion, whose mains differentials diagnoses are sarcomas of the prostate. Diagnosis is based on histological examination.

[Psoas abscess: 12 case reports].

Psoas abscess are rare. Primitives or secondary their clinical diagnosis is difficult. Imagery and especially computed tomography is fundamental.

[Nephroblastoma in adults: apropos of 2 cases].

Adult nephroblastoma is a rare tumor. The authors report two new cases observed in a 30 and 34 years old men in whom the diagnosis was made by histo-pathology. They were admitted for enormous kidney mass.

[A supernumerary kidney. Apropos of a case].

Supernumerary kidney is a rare poorly documented anomaly. It's generally discovered in stage of complications. Preoperative diagnosis is difficult.

[Pathological pelvic kidney. Apropos of 11 cases].

The diseases ectopic kidney is a rare malformation. It can be associated with other urological or nonurological malformation. We report 11 cases observed between 1980 and 1998.

[Bilateral malignant non-Hodgkin's lymphoma].

Non Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL) of the testis in young patient are rare. Bilateral involvement varies from 5 to 20% of cases and has a negative prognosis. The authors report a case of bilateral non Hodgkin's lymphoma of the testis in a 35 year old man.

[Genital Buschke Loewenstein tumors. Report of 4 cases].

The authors present four cases of Buschke Loewenstein tumor. In three cases, the outcome was good despite areas of anaplasic change are seen in one of them. The outcome of the fourth patient was fatal because of multiples recurrences.

Adrenal myelolipoma. A case report.

We report a new case in a 56 years old patient who manifested right side's pains. The abdominal CT scan showed a tumor of the right adrenal gland with fat density (size: 8 x 6 x 6 cm). This tumor was removed surgically (weight: 300 g).

[Detrusor-sphincter dyssynergia: four case reports and literature review].

Unlabelled: Detrusor-sphincter dyssynergia is responsible for major impairment and is factor for social and professional activity repercussions.

Methods: We have studied the clinical and urodynamic finding in four patients (two men and two women) with detrusor-sphincter dyssynergia. Mean age is 36 years (26-44 years).

[Pathologic horseshoe kidney. Report of 13 cases].

The authors report a series of 13 horseshoe kidneys observed over a 22-year period. All patients are men with a mean age of 39 years (20-65 years). The clinical features were dominated by abdomino-lumbar pain (nine cases).

[Scrotal injuries. Report of 40 cases].

Between 1986 to 1998, 40 patients, 16 to 52 years old, consulted for trauma of the scrotum. The trauma was closed in 36 cases. The trauma occurred by accident of traffic in 19 cases, an accident of work in seven cases, an accident during sport in seven cases, aggression in six cases and brawl in one case.

[Percutaneous nephrolithotomy. Report of 211 cases].

The case files of 198 patients with a stone, treated by percutaneous nephrolithotomy between 1985 and 1999, were studied. This series consisted of 113 men and 85 women with a mean age of 41 years (17-71 years). The stone was in the pelvis (167 cases) of the kidney, multiple in 40 cases and staghorn in four cases.

[Paratesticular rhabdomyosarcoma. Three case reports].

Paratesticular rhabdomyosarcoma is a rare and highly aggressive tumor. The authors discuss the diagnosis and therapeutic problems raised by this lesion and report three cases with a review of the literature.
