Objective: The poultry industry is significantly impacted by viral infections, particularly Newcastle Disease Virus (NDV), which leads to substantial economic losses. It is essential to comprehend how the sequence of development affects biological pathways and how early exposure to infections might affect immune responses.
Methods: This study employed transcriptome analysis to investigate host-pathogen interactions by analyzing gene expression changes in NDV-infected chicken embryos' lungs.
This study aimed to investigate the biological activity of crude and purified laminarin and fucoidan samples extracted from Irish brown macroalgae species and . The antioxidant capacity of the samples was evaluated using the 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl and ferric-reducing antioxidant power assays. The anti-inflammatory potential of the samples was analysed using the cyclooxygenases inhibition activity, and the antidiabetic activity was evaluated using a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 inhibitor screening assay.

This paper provides research findings on green extraction methods, structural analysis of fucoidan, and its associated bioactivities. Fucoidans from brown seaweeds, and were extracted using green solvents such as citric acid (CA) followed by MWCO (molecular weight cut-off) filtration to obtain high-purity polysaccharides.

Comparative analysis with the GRCg6a reference genome revealed 9 and 16 SNVs in the locus for Aseel and Kadaknath breeds, respectively. When referencing the Genome Reference Consortium GRCg7b, Kadaknath exhibited 10 variants, contrasting with none in Aseel.

The enzyme aconitate decarboxylase 1 (Acod1) is known to link the cellular function of monocyte-derived macrophages to their metabolic status. As osteoclasts derive from the monocyte lineage, we hypothesised a role for Acod1 and its metabolite itaconate in osteoclast differentiation and arthritis-associated bone loss.

Water and 50% aqueous ethanol were used as green extraction solvents. The extraction methods using 50% ethanol as extraction solvent improved the yields of phenolic compounds and glucan and enhanced in vitro antioxidant activity.

However, due to the instability of organic crystals at high temperatures and stress, there is an interest in growing good-quality bulk single crystals with stable thermal and mechanical properties. Here, the 2-amino 4-methylpyridinium 4-nitrophenolate 4-nitrophenol (2A4MPPP) crystal was prepared employing a single-wall ampoule and the vertical Bridgman technique.

Laminarin, or β-glucan, a storage polysaccharide from brown algae, has been reported to have potential pharmacological properties such as antioxidant, anti-tumor, anti-coagulant, anticancer, immunomodulatory, anti-obesity, anti-diabetic, anti-inflammatory, wound healing, and neuroprotective potential. It has been widely investigated as a functional material in biomedical applications as it is biodegradable, biocompatible, and is low toxic substances.

Drastic reductions in the effective size of a population may result in genetic bottlenecks and can affect within-breed genetic variability and its viability. The present study was undertaken with the objective of evaluating South Indian zebu cattle populations for mutation drift equilibrium and to detect the occurrence of recent genetic bottleneck events.

We evaluated the potential of ELISAs, based on six antigenically distinct recombinant MAP cell envelope proteins (SdhA, FadE25_2, FadE3_2, Mkl, DesA2, and hypothetical protein MAP1233) as well as an extract of MAP total cell envelope proteins, to detect antibodies against MAP in the sera of infected cattle. The sensitivity (Se) and specificity (Sp) of an ELISA based on MAP total cell envelope proteins, when analyzing 153 bovine serum samples, was 75 and 96%, respectively.

The aim of the present study is to fabricate hydrogel as a photosensitizer (PS) for photodynamic therapy. Chlorin e6 (Ce6)-fucoidan/alginates@gellam gum (Ce6-Fu/AL@GG)-based hydrogel was fabricated and characterised in terms of morphology and functional groups. MTT assay was used to check toxicity and also performed scratch assay for wound healing property of Ce6-Fu/AL@GGH.

A superhydrophobic domain of the polymer on cellulose was created through the amide bond formation between the anhydride units of the polymer and the aminosiloxane-functionalized cellulose through layer-over-layer formulation. This formulation was confirmed through XPS, XRD, 29Si-NMR, and FTIR studies.
