In this investigation, single nucleotide variants (SNVs) within the chicken interferon-inducible transmembrane protein () genes were explored in Aseel and Kadaknath breeds. Comparative analysis with the GRCg6a reference genome revealed 9 and 16 SNVs in the locus for Aseel and Kadaknath breeds, respectively. When referencing the Genome Reference Consortium GRCg7b, Kadaknath exhibited 10 variants, contrasting with none in Aseel.

This study investigated the multiproduct (fucoidans, β-glucans, proteins, carotenoids, fatty acids, amino acids and polyphenols) valorization of the invasive macroalgae Ascophyllum nodosum within a green biorefinery concept using ultrasound (US), microwave (MW) treatment followed by supercritical CO (SC-CO) with co-solvent and enzymatic extraction. Water and 50% aqueous ethanol were used as green extraction solvents. The extraction methods using 50% ethanol as extraction solvent improved the yields of phenolic compounds and glucan and enhanced in vitro antioxidant activity.

Cell envelope proteins from subspecies (MAP) that are antigenically distinct from closely related mycobacterial species are potentially useful for Johne's Disease (JD) diagnosis. We evaluated the potential of ELISAs, based on six antigenically distinct recombinant MAP cell envelope proteins (SdhA, FadE25_2, FadE3_2, Mkl, DesA2, and hypothetical protein MAP1233) as well as an extract of MAP total cell envelope proteins, to detect antibodies against MAP in the sera of infected cattle. The sensitivity (Se) and specificity (Sp) of an ELISA based on MAP total cell envelope proteins, when analyzing 153 bovine serum samples, was 75 and 96%, respectively.

Cellulose membranes were engineered to produce hydrophobic surfaces via a simple and soft chemical process to introduce multifunctional properties of an otherwise hydrophilic cellulose surface with polymer-grafted nanosilver to form a core-shell nanostructure. A superhydrophobic domain of the polymer on cellulose was created through the amide bond formation between the anhydride units of the polymer and the aminosiloxane-functionalized cellulose through layer-over-layer formulation.
