The reliable operation of power systems while integrating renewable energy systems depends on Optimal Power Flow (OPF). Power systems meet the operational demands by efficiently managing the OPF. Identifying the optimal solution for the OPF problem is essential to ensure voltage stability, and minimize power loss and fuel cost when the power system is integrated with renewable energy resources.

Article Synopsis
  • The study focused on isolating and characterizing specific species (spp.) to test their effectiveness against GBNV (Groundnut Bud-Nicotiana Virus) in tomato plants.
  • Among the three inoculation methods (pre-, post-, and simultaneous), pre-inoculation with liquid consortia showed the lowest disease severity index (DSI) and significantly reduced the GBNV infection rates in both pot culture and field trials.
  • The interaction analysis indicated that these species can enhance the tomato plant's resistance through the upregulation of defense genes, suggesting they are effective for managing GBNV in tomatoes.

  • Two begomoviruses, ToLCNDV and BgYMV, infect bitter gourd in India, with ToLCNDV being the more prevalent strain at 92.43%.
  • The ToLCNDV variants identified in this study show only 88% genetic similarity to other ToLCNDV isolates and have unique protein sequences that differentiate them from other geminiviruses.
  • Recombination analysis indicates that these isolates are distinct enough to warrant the designation of a new strain, ToLCNDV-BG, due to their unique genomic characteristics.

The inherently low sensitivity of nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy is the major limiting factor for its application to elucidate structure and dynamics in solids. In the solid state, nuclear spin hyperpolarization methods based on microwave-induced dynamic nuclear polarization (DNP) provide a versatile platform to enhance the bulk NMR signal of many different sample formulations, leading to significant sensitivity improvements. Here we show that H NMR hyperpolarization can also be generated in solids at high magnetic fields by optical irradiation of the sample.

The expansion of 3,5-bis(arylidene)-4-piperidone derivatives with heterocyclic compounds such as 1,3-thiazole should take into account this correlation. The synthesized aminothiazolylacetamido-substituted 3,5-bis(arylidene)-4-piperidone derivatives - were found to have GI values in the range of 0.15-0.

Objective: The Pfirrmann scoring system classifies lumbosacral disc degeneration based on magnetic resonance imaging signal intensity. The relationship between pre-existing disc degeneration and patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) after one-level lumbar fusion is not well documented. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between the severity of preoperative intervertebral disc degeneration and preoperative and postoperative PROMs in patients undergoing one-level lumbar fusion.

Background: Left-sided mechanical prosthetic heart valve thrombosis (PVT) occurs because of suboptimal anticoagulation and is common in low-resource settings. Urgent surgery and fibrinolytic therapy (FT) are the two treatment options available for this condition. Urgent surgery is a high-risk procedure but results in successful restoration of valve function more often and is the treatment of choice in developed countries.

Haplotype-based breeding (HBB) is one of the cutting-edge technologies in the realm of crop improvement due to the increasing availability of Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms identified by Next Generation Sequencing technologies. The complexity of the data can be decreased with fewer statistical tests and a lower probability of spurious associations by combining thousands of SNPs into a few hundred haplotype blocks. The presence of strong genomic regions in breeding lines of most crop species facilitates the use of haplotypes to improve the efficiency of genomic and marker-assisted selection.

Orthotospoviruses, a genera of negative-sense ssRNA viruses transmitted by thrips, have gained significant attention in recent years due to their detrimental impact on diverse crops, causing substantial economic losses and posing threats to food security. Orthotospoviruses are characterised by a wide range of symptoms in plants, including chlorotic/necrotic spots, vein banding, and fruit deformation. Seven species, including four definite and three tentative species in the genus Orthotospovirus, have so far been documented on the crops of the Indian subcontinent.
