This serovar has been implicated in outbreaks of foodborne illness. Soft cheese, crab cocktail, beef, and rock melon are commonly involved in these outbreaks.

Snare-Assisted Retrieval of an Embolized Long Coronary Guidewire From the Aortic Arch.

We report an extremely rare case of gooseneck snare-assisted retrieval of an embolized coronary guidewire from the aortic arch in an elderly male scheduled for a transradial coronary angiogram for unstable angina. In this case, the proximal end of the embolized coronary guidewire could not be retrieved from the brachial artery nor the roomy aortic root using a flower petal snare. The key takeaway from this case is that an embolized coronary guidewire can be successfully retrieved with a gooseneck snare from its proximal end in a moderately spacious area like the aortic arch.

Ventrolateral medullary compression by vascular contact in primary hemifacial spasm: a radiological analysis.

Background: The neurovascular conflict (NVC) causing hemifacial spasm (HFS) can also cause compression of ventrolateral medulla (VLM) which contains the central sympathetic neurons. VLM compression has been associated with hypertension. Whether the VLM compression in HFS patients is associated with hypertension is not clear.

The Closure of Grade 1 Coronary Perforation by the Snowplow Phenomenon.

We report an extremely rare case of spontaneous closure of grade 1 coronary perforation by the snowplow phenomenon during the revascularization of a subtotal occlusion in the left anterior descending coronary artery. Coronary artery perforation is usually a nightmare during coronary intervention in the cardiac catheterization laboratory. While large coronary perforation requires the deployment of a covered stent, small perforations require heparin reversal, prolonged balloon inflation, deployment of small coils, or gel foam closure.

Effectiveness of Multimodal Intervention to Improve Blood Culture Collection in a Tertiary Care Hospital.

Introduction and methods Blood culturing has become one of the backbone investigations for septicemia, fever of unknown origin, etc. This study was conducted to test the effect of multimodal interventions on the practical skills of healthcare workers (HCWs), raise awareness regarding the importance of aseptic blood culture collection practices, and increase compliance with the specific steps to be followed. Hence, this current interventional study was aimed at comparing the rate of isolation of contaminants grown among the blood culture specimens, assessing the knowledge, attitude, and practice (KAP) of HCWs collecting the blood culture specimen on various aspects of sample collection, educating the nursing staff regarding blood sample collection using a structured, pre-formed checklist, and emphasizing best practices for blood culture collection.

As Ayurveda students, we explore the counterview to this, pointing out the fallacies behind each point raised, and suggest solutions that we find suitable for effective, competency-based Ayurveda education.

Isolation and molecular characterization of lumpy skin disease virus from Tamil Nadu, India during the outbreaks from 2020 to 2022.

Lumpy skin disease (LSD) caused by LSD virus is a WOAH notifiable, high-impact, transboundary poxviral disease of bovines. The first official report of LSDV in India is from Odisha state during August 2019. Since then, cases have been reported from many states including Tamil Nadu, a Southern state of India.
