There is a growing need to better characterise senescent cells in the CNS and retina. The recently published SenMayo gene panel was developed to identify transcriptomic signatures of senescence across multiple organ systems, but the retina was not included. While other approaches have identified senescent signatures in the retina, these have largely focused on experimental models in young animals.

In this meticulous approach, Ni-based metal-organic frameworks with different ligands, including terephthalic acid (NTP), 2-aminoterephthalic acid (NATP), and their composite with g-CN (NTP/GCN, and NATP/GCN) have been synthesized using hydrothermal method. Structural analysis by XRD and ATR-IR revealed synergistic properties due to robust chemical interactions between the NATP-MOFs and GCN systems.

We hypothesise that neuraxial blockade is a safe and effective alternative to GA in short-duration breast surgeries.
Methods: This randomised study included 30 patients of the American Society of Anesthesiologists physical status I and II, who were scheduled for elective breast surgeries of a duration of less than 90 min.
Watching a speaker's face improves speech perception accuracy. This benefit is enabled, in part, by implicit lipreading abilities present in the general population. While it is established that lipreading can alter the perception of a heard word, it is unknown how these visual signals are represented in the auditory system or how they interact with auditory speech representations.

X-ray diffraction (XRD), Raman, and attenuated total reflectance-infrared (ATR-IR) analyses confirmed the ligand-dependent crystal structure of the Mo-MOFs along with the characteristic functional groups present in the respective systems. Interestingly, the morphology of all of these the developed Mo-MOFs was found to be a one-dimensional rod-like structure, which was attributed to the binding nature of the ligands onto the growing Mo-frameworks.

More than 60% of tumours are detected after the onset of a metastatic disease. In the two cases presented, we demonstrate the role of muti-modality imaging in the diagnosis of the lesion and provide valuable input in prognosticating the disease burden.

C57BL/6J mice were subjected to two acute periods of intraocular pressure (IOP) elevation (50 mmHg for 30 min) by cannulation of the anterior chamber. We used full-field electroretinography and visual evoked potentials (VEPs) to measure subsequent changes in retina and optic nerve function, and histochemical techniques to assess RGC survival and optic nerve structure.

The accurate identification of Salmonella serovars is important in disease management and public health surveillance. However, traditional serotyping methods are laborious, time-consuming and may produce ambiguous results.

This systematic review follows the guidelines of Preferred Reporting for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA). We searched PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, and Scopus databases to identify the relevant articles from January 2020 to June 2022.

Pancreaticojejunostomy (PJ) and pancreaticogastrostomy (PG) are the two different methods of reconstruction after PD. However, the existing data is ambiguous in supporting either of them as the preferred technique of reconstruction.

The molecular modeling of the novel coronavirus research sounds promising and equips more evidence about the pragmatic therapeutic options. This article proposes a machine-learning framework for identifying potential COVID-19 transcriptomic signatures.

All the synthesized derivatives were assessed for cytotoxic activity against a panel of human cancer and normal cell lines and the results showed that most of the compounds exhibited significant cytotoxic activity against cancer cells and mild cytotoxicity against normal cells. In particular, the compounds 5a, 5c, 10f, and 13o showed potent cytotoxic activity against tongue and oral cancer cell lines compared to the parent compound (<100 μM).

Speech perception is a central component of social communication. Although principally an auditory process, accurate speech perception in everyday settings is supported by meaningful information extracted from visual cues. Visual speech modulates activity in cortical areas subserving auditory speech perception including the superior temporal gyrus (STG).

Automatic detection from computed tomography (CT) scans is a classic method to detect lung infection, but it faces problems such as high variations in intensity, indistinct edges near lung infected region and noise due to data acquisition process. Therefore, this article proposes a new COVID-19 pulmonary infection segmentation depth network referred as the Attention Gate-Dense Network- Improved Dilation Convolution-UNET (ADID-UNET).

Methodology: In this single-centre retrospective cohort study spanning 5-years (2012 to 2016), TB-ARDS patients were age and gender matched (1:2) with non-TB infectious ARDS and followed up until death or hospital discharge. Clinical profile, treatment and outcomes were compared using t-test and Chi-square as appropriate.
Bi-allelic HOXA1 pathogenic variants clinically manifest as two distinct syndromes, Bosley-Salih-Alorainy syndrome (BSAS) and Athabascan brainstem dysgenesis syndrome, mainly reported in two different populations from Saudi Arabia and southwest North America, respectively. Here we report two siblings of Indian origin with BSAS phenotype caused by a novel homozygous exon 2 HOXA1 pathogenic variants.

We aimed to evaluate the effects of low dose dexmedetomidine infusion (0.5 mcg/kg/h) on postoperative analgesic efficacy along with the perioperative hemodynamic changes in patients undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy.

Available PCVs have less serotype coverage in India compared to western countries. Moreover, the baseline pneumococcal serotype and sequence type data is limited and available data doesn't represent the entire India.

Characterizing the evolutionary landscape of these cancers, including the role of metastatic axillary lymph nodes (ALNs) in seeding distant organ metastasis, can provide a rational basis for effective treatments. Here, we have described the genomic analyses of the primary tumors and metastatic lesions from 99 samples obtained from 20 patients with breast cancer.

Methods: Demographic data, electrocardiographic (ECG) changes, left ventricular (LV) systolic and diastolic function, myocardial injury (defined as troponin T > 14 pg/mL), and pericardial effusion were documented. Myocarditis was diagnosed when myocardial injury was associated with global LV systolic dysfunction.
Background: Transcriptomic profiling of breast tumors provides opportunity for subtyping and molecular-based patient stratification. In diagnostic applications the specimen profiled should be representative of the expression profile of the whole tumor and ideally capture properties of the most aggressive part of the tumor. However, breast cancers commonly exhibit intra-tumor heterogeneity at molecular, genomic and in phenotypic level, which can arise during tumor evolution.
