Altered function of maternal platelets has been evidenced in intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR) but intraplatelet burden of trace elements, factors known to affect platelet activity, remains unknown in IUGR pregnancy. Embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma, a malignant soft tissue neoplasm, is 1 of the most common pediatric tumors of the vagina. Although radical surgery has been replaced with radiation therapy, chemotherapy, and conservative surgery, the use of vaginoscopy is still uncommon. We present the case of an infant who underwent vaginoscopic resection because of botryoid sarcoma at 9 months of age.
