Exploring the potential of Braingame Brian for executive function improvement in Spanish-speaking children with ADHD: A pilot study.

Considering the implications of executive function (EF) in the core symptoms of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), further research is required on strategies such as therapies, treatments, and rehabilitation programs focused on improving EF. This study aimed to assess the potential of an EF training program called "Braingame Brian" in improving working memory, inhibition, and cognitive flexibility in children with ADHD. The programme was developed in the Netherlands and has been shown to be effective in pilot studies of ADHD populations conducted in this country.

Two Case Reports of Neuropsychological Functioning in Congenital Insensitivity to Pain with Anhidrosis (CIPA).

Individuals with congenital insensitivity to pain with anhidrosis (CIPA) are reported to have intellectual disability but to our knowledge, no detailed study about neuropsychological functioning of this condition has ever been published. The present study assessed neuropsychological outcomes of two children with CIPA using standardized neuropsychological tests. The neuropsychological assessment revealed difficulties in a wide range of cognitive, executive, and integrative functions, such as a behavioral and adaptive level.

Genetic Advances in Post-traumatic Stress Disorder.

Post-traumatic stress disorder, or PTSD, is a condition that affects a subgroup of individuals that have suffered a previous traumatic event capable of generating changes at a psychological and behavioural level. These changes affect the personal, family, and social environment of those who suffer from this condition. Different genes have been identified as risk markers for development of this disorder.
