Background: Technological advances of the 21st century have provided greater communication, regardless of socioeconomic class and age group. Actions to promote the development of health applications are emerging around the world.
Objective: To provide a perspective on the viability and usability of mobile applications dedicated to radiotherapy patients for remote support to health professionals proposing solutions to encourage Brasil in the development of these digital tools.

This study assessed the prophylactic bethanechol use to prevent salivary gland dysfunction during radiotherapy. A total of 97 head and neck cancer patients were allocated into two groups: Bethanechol or Placebo. Bethanechol group presented significantly improve of salivary parameters.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFBackground: The intraoral stent is a mouth-opening device which may be used during head and neck cancer radiotherapy with the intention of preventing unnecessary irradiation in normal adjacent tissue. The use of this device during intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) has not been reported in the literature.
Methods: A 30-year-old woman with squamous cell carcinoma of the tongue was submitted to a CT for IMRT treatment planning with and without the use of the intraoral stent.
