Malacofauna of lotic environments in the Northeast and Brazilian semiarid region: current knowledge and new records.

Despite the great diversity, economic and environmental importance of limnic mollusks, the group is still little investigated in the Brazilian semiarid region, especially in the state of Piauí. Thus, this work aims to gather information on the diversity of limnic mollusks in the Brazilian Northeast and the semiarid region, including new records for the state of Piauí, northeastern Brazil. For this, collections in the urban perimeter of the Itaim and Guaribas Rivers, municipalities of Itainópolis, and Picos, respectively, between October 2017 and September 2019.

Phase II trial of neoadjuvant chemotherapy using alternating doublets in non-small-cell lung cancer.

Purpose: Lung cancer is an epidemic disease in developing countries. Incorporation of new active drugs in the neoadjuvant treatment of operable patients might lead to improved outcomes. Postchemotherapy mediastinal-based treatment decisions allow for in vivo testing of activity and could help to determine the ideal local treatment.

Paratesticular rhabdomyoma.

The fifth case of paratesticular rhabdomyoma is described in a 55-year-old man. The histology revealed a tumor consisting of round or spindle cells, with deeply acidophilic cytoplasm and cross striations. An inguinal resection was performed, and the patient is well with no local recurrence or metastasis 13 months after surgery.
