Complete response and prolonged disease-free survival in a patient with recurrent duodenal adenocarcinoma treated with bevacizumab plus FOLFOX6.

Small bowel adenocarcinoma is an uncommon gastrointestinal malignancy with limited data on effective chemotherapy in the adjuvant setting, as well as for advanced disease. We present a case report of a patient with recurrent duodenal adenocarcinoma after resection and adjuvant chemotherapy who experienced a complete response to bevacizumab with oxaliplatin and 5FU (FOLFOX) followed by bevacizumab/capecitabine maintenance therapy for 2 years. The patient continues to be disease-free 8 years after his recurrence.
