Background: This study examined the effects of yoga-based educational interventions on the volume and composition of breast milk in premature infants' mothers admitted to the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).

Materials And Methods: A randomized controlled trial was conducted on 78 primiparous mothers whose premature infants were less than 34 weeks and were hospitalized in the NICU of Ayatollah Rouhani Hospital from February 2021 to November 2022. Mothers were assigned to a control group and an experimental group, that is, yoga, using the block randomization method.

Background And Aims: Mounting evidence have implicated that rs1801131 and rs1801133, located in the Methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) gene, may emerge as novel biomarkers for coronary artery disease (CAD). The Synergy between Percutaneous Coronary Intervention with Taxus and Cardiac Surgery (SYNTAX) score is also an appropriate predictor for revascularization strategy in patients with complex CAD. The aim of this study is to investigate the correlation between rs1801131 and rs1801133 with the severity of coronary lesions in patients with ST‑Elevation Myocardial Infarction (STEMI) and Non‑ST‑Elevation Myocardial Infarction (NSTEMI) based on the SYNTAX score.

Diabetic nephropathy (DN) is a leading cause of chronic kidney disease (CKD) and end-stage renal disease worldwide, particularly among individuals with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Early detection and intervention are crucial in slowing the progression of DN and improving patient outcomes. Traditional diagnostic methods, such as the measurement of albuminuria and serum creatinine, often fail to detect early renal damage because structural kidney damage may occur before albumin excretion.

Medication refractory focal epilepsy creates a significant challenge, with approximately 30% of patients ineligible for surgery due to the involvement of eloquent cortex in the epileptogenic network. For such patients with limited surgical options, electrical neuromodulation represents a promising alternative therapy. In this study, we investigate the potential of non-invasive temporal interference (TI) electrical stimulation to reduce epileptic biomarkers in patients with epilepsy by comparing intracerebral recordings obtained before, during, and after TI stimulation, to recordings during low and high kHz frequency (HF) sham stimulation.

Objective: This study emphasized the importance of providing equal access to rescue and emergency services for all individuals involved in road accidents, regardless of their geographical location or socioeconomic status.

Methods: This study involved gathering data on the number of Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) stations in 31 provinces of Iran. It entailed calculating the Gini coefficient and creating the Lorenz curve to assess the station distribution.

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a prevalent health condition characterized by gradual kidney function loss. Early detection is crucial for the effective management and treatment of CKD. A promising biomarker for various diseases, including chronic kidney disease, is microRNAs (miRNAs), which are becoming increasingly important due to their stability and differential expression in various disease-related states, including CKD.

Article Synopsis
  • Adolescent mothers show lower breastfeeding rates compared to adult mothers, and their emotional and psychological experiences regarding breastfeeding are under-researched.
  • The study involved 11 adolescent first-time mothers in Iran, utilizing semi-structured interviews to explore their experiences and feelings related to infant feeding.
  • Findings revealed two main categories: the positive transformation from breastfeeding leading to connections with motherhood, and the conflicting emotions these young mothers face, highlighting the need for psychological support programs.

This research utilized tetraethylenepentamine-functionalized HY cubic zeolite as an adsorbent to effectively remove heavy metals from aqueous solutions. The adsorbent was characterized using FT-IR, XRD, TGA, FE-SEM, and EDS-MAP techniques. The synthesis aimed to optimize and evaluate the removal efficiency of Pb(II), Cr(III), Co(II), and Cu(II) from aqueous solutions by investigating key parameters, including initial pH, concentration, adsorbent dosage, and contact time.

In this article, we identify challenges in the complex interaction between artificial intelligence (AI) systems and society. We argue that AI systems need to be studied in their socio-political context to be able to better appreciate a diverse set of potential outcomes that emerge from long-term feedback between technological development, inequalities and collective decision-making processes. This means that assessing the risks from the deployment of any specific technology presents unique challenges.

  • - This study investigated the impact of Sunset Yellow FCF (SY) on memory and hippocampal structure in adult rats, finding that both low and high doses significantly caused neuronal loss and impaired memory.
  • - Rats were divided into six groups, with some receiving Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) to see if it could protect against SY's harmful effects over a six-week period.
  • - Results showed that CoQ10 effectively prevented hippocampal damage and memory impairment caused by SY exposure by reducing oxidative stress in the rats.

Objective: Non-invasive brain stimulation (NIBS) methodologies, such as transcranial electric (tES) are increasingly employed for therapeutic, diagnostic, or research purposes. The concurrent presence of active/passive implants can pose safety risks, affect the NIBS delivery, or generate confounding signals. A systematic investigation is required to understand the interaction mechanisms, quantify exposure, assess risks, and establish guidance for NIBS applications.

Acute lymphoblastic leukemia is a challenging disease to treat, especially in older adults who are most commonly diagnosed and have a high risk of relapse, even with current treatment options. MST-312, targets the RNA component of telomerase, inhibiting its activity and leading to growth arrest and telomere shortening in cancer cells. This study aimed to investigate the effects of MST-312 on apoptosis rates and the expression of telomerase target genes, CCND1, MDM2, MYC, and HSP90AA1, in Jurkat cell line.

Article Synopsis
  • - The study evaluated the prevalence and patterns of Diabetes Mellitus (DM) among Iranian pilgrims during Hajj from 2012 to 2022, analyzing data from 469,581 individuals and focusing on demographic information and risk factors.
  • - Results indicated that older pilgrims (45-70 years) had higher rates of DM, especially those over 70 years old, and women's prevalence was higher than men's (14.64% vs. 12.51%), with significant regional variations in prevalence across provinces.
  • - The findings suggest the need for targeted screening and management of diabetes by healthcare providers to address the significant differences in prevalence and to mitigate potential health risks for pilgrims.

One of the common side effects of chemotherapy drugs is ovarian failure and uterine dysfunction, which can occur after the administration of doxorubicin and/or cyclophosphamide. In clinics, gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonists (GnRHa) are used to modulate the toxic effect of chemotherapy and intercept infertility with some controversy and limited histological knowledge. This study aimed to evaluate the serological and histological features of protective effects of triptorelin, (GnRHa), on utero-ovarian tissue in the mice treated with cyclophosphamide and/or doxorubicin.

Article Synopsis
  • Scientists studied how certain friendly bacteria (called Lacticacid bacteria) can help heal wounds, especially for people with diabetic ulcers (painful sores that can happen with diabetes).
  • They created a special gel with these bacteria and tested it on wounds, comparing it to antibiotic treatments.
  • The results showed that most of the bacteria helped heal the wounds better than antibiotics, especially L. acidophilus and L. rhamnosus, which also stopped harmful bacteria from growing!
