Background: Manual extraction of real-world clinical data for research can be time-consuming and prone to error. We assessed the feasibility of using natural language processing (NLP), an AI technique, to automate data extraction for patients with advanced lung cancer (aLC). We assessed the external validity of our NLP-extracted data by comparing our findings to those reported in the literature.

The present perspective accentuates the synthesis of PANI-CuFeO (PCF) nanocomposite, and photocatalytic degradation of methylene blue (MB) dye using a synthesized composite. The stable PCF is confirmed and characterized by analytical techniques, namely, fourier transform infrared (FTIR) and X-ray photoelectron (XPS) spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction (XRD), energy-dispersive X-ray (EDX), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and vibrating sample magnetometry (VSM) analysis. The synthesized PCF nanocomposites are significantly crystalline in nature, having magnetic saturation of 10.

Methods: This retrospective cohort study used data from 15 International Radiosurgery Research Foundation facilities encompassing 67 patients with 185 EBMs managed using SRS between January 2000 and May 2022. The median patient age was 63 years, with a male predominance (92.
Background: This study aimed to evaluate and compare the outcomes of proximal row carpectomy (PRC) with interposition arthroplasty using dorsal wrist capsule interposition, lateral meniscus allograft, or dermal allograft in patients with lunate facet/capitate degeneration.
Methods: Patients who underwent PRC with interposition arthroplasty between 2010 and 2022 at a single institution were identified. Preoperative and postoperative visual analog scale (VAS) pain, functional outcomes, and complications were recorded.

Background: Evidence-based practices (EBPs) are instrumental in improving patient outcomes and ensuring high-quality nursing care, yet their implementation often encounters substantial barriers. The Iowa Implementation for Sustainability Framework and the Precision Implementation Approach© offer systematic strategies for overcoming barriers and enhancing EBP implementation and sustainability in health care settings.
Aim: This project aimed to use the Iowa Implementation for Sustainability Framework and the Precision Implementation Approach© to support the use of an evidence-based maternal depression intervention within Iowa's Title V Maternal Health Program that serves mothers of young children living in poverty.
To evaluate whether single-exposure, dual-energy chest X-ray (DEX) improves visualization of coronary artery calcium (CAC) and valve/vascular calcifications compared to conventional X-ray. Sixty-one bone-marrow transplant patients (22- 79 years; median 61; IQR 15; w/m, 24/37), underwent single-exposure dual-energy X-ray (Reveal 35C, KA imaging) in pa and lateral projection, followed by a standard-of-care chest CT. Two DEX pairs (pa/lateral) were calculated: a composite image (COMP) and a bone image with soft-tissue subtraction (BI).

With recent trials demonstrating IVUS benefits over standard angiography, our meta-analysis aimedto evaluate and summarize the current evidence on whether IVUS-guided drug-eluting stent (DES) placement resulted in better outcomes than the angiography-guided DES placement in patients with left main coronary artery (LMCA) disease. This meta-analysis aimed to analyze the current evidence on the IVUS-guided and angiography-guided drug-eluting stent (DES) placement in patients with LMCA disease.

Methods: During the 14th Breast-Gynecological and Immuno-Oncology International Cancer Conference held in Egypt in 2022, a panel of 44 BC experts from 13 countries voted on statements concerning debatable challenges in the neo/adjuvant treatment setting. The recommendations were subsequently updated based on the most recent data emerging.
The quasi-frictionless water flow across graphitic surfaces offers vast opportunities for a wide range of applications from biomedical science to energy. However, the conflicting experimental results impede a clear understanding of the transport mechanism and desired flow control. Existing literature proposes numerous modifications and updated boundary conditions to extend classical hydrodynamic theories for nanoflows, yet a consensus or definitive conclusion remains elusive.

Methods: This retrospective, multicenter study included patients with recurrent/residual NFPA treated with single-fraction SRS; they were then divided into two arms.
In this study, a straightforward, eco-friendly, and facile method for synthesizing iron oxide nanoparticles (IONPs) utilizing steam extract as a reducing and stabilizing agent has been demonstrated. The formation of stable IONPs coated with organic moieties was confirmed from UV-vis, FTIR, and EDX spectroscopy and DLS analysis. The produced IONPs are sufficiently crystalline to be superparamagnetic having a saturation magnetization value of 58 emu/g, and their spherical form and size of 9 nm were verified by XRD, VSM, SEM, and TEM investigations.

Methods: Under the auspices of the International Radiosurgery Research Foundation, this retrospective multicenter study analyzed pediatric patients who underwent repeat, single-session SRS between 1987 and 2022. The primary outcome variable was a favorable outcome, defined as nidus obliteration without hemorrhage or neurological deterioration.
Rheumatic diseases are a group of disorders that affect the joints, muscles, and bones. These diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, and psoriatic arthritis, can cause pain, stiffness, and swelling, leading to reduced mobility and disability. Recent studies have identified the microbiome, the diverse community of microorganisms that live in and on the human body, as a potential factor in the development and progression of rheumatic diseases.

Although vaccination efforts have been successful in Nigeria, unfortunately, the recent 2023 outbreak in Nigeria has been nothing short of distressing. Of course, cases of diphtheria incidence are under-reported in Nigeria.

Addressing vaccine scepticism and misinformation is crucial in African nations to build public trust in malaria prevention. Therefore, including a wider range of demographics in vaccine trials is necessary for equitable representation and achieving herd immunity against malaria.

Introduction: Colloid cysts often occur in the third ventricle, and they are considered benign, slowly growing lesions. They commonly present with symptoms of intracranial hypertension and rarely sudden death due to acute hydrocephalus. The management options include cerebrospinal fluid diversion procedure by shunt, endoscopic or transcranial surgical excision, and stereotactic aspiration.

Although stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) has been proposed as an alternative to microsurgery in the management of selected cases in adults, there is a paucity of studies focusing on pediatric patients. The aim of this study was to present the outcomes and associated risks of SRS in this subgroup of patients.
