Radiation-induced Testicular Damage in Mice: Protective Effects of Apigenin Revealed by Histopathological Evaluation.

Background: Radiation exposure poses a significant threat to reproductive health, particularly the male reproductive system. The testes, being highly sensitive to radiation, are susceptible to damage that can impair fertility and overall reproductive function. The study aims to investigate the radioprotective effects of apigenin on the testis through histopathological evaluation.

Evaluation of risk management status in selected departments of educational hospitals of Hamadan University of Medical Sciences.

Background: Healthcare organizations are among high-risk organizations due to the nature of their work as well as structural, physical and technological complexities. Accordingly, it is important to use risk management and control programs in all departments of these organizations.

Reduction of Radiation Dose Received by Surgeons and Patients During Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy: A New Shielding Method.

Purpose: Due to high prevalence of urolithiasis, endourologic interventions have increased for the treatment of patients with urinary stones. During fluoroscopy-guided percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL), the surgeon and the patient are exposed to X-ray and its harmful effects. This study aimed to assess the reduction of the radiation dose received by surgeons and patients after using a new shielding method.

Lead-free transparent shields for diagnostic X-rays: Monte Carlo simulation and measurements.

In recent years, the preference for using lead-free radiation protection shields has increased because of concerns regarding lead poisoning and leakage. In medical and research laboratories, glass shields are preferred because of their transparency. In this study, various glass shields were examined and compared based on the international standards.

Evaluation of the electromagnetic field intensity in operating rooms and estimation of occupational exposures of personnel.

Introduction: Operating rooms in hospitals are facilitated with different types of electronic systems, which produce electromagnetic waves. High intensities of magnetic waves may have harmful effects on biological environments. This study aims to evaluate the electromagnetic field intensity at different parts of operating rooms at the first stage and estimate the occupational exposure to operating room personnel at the next phase.
