The increasing elderly population and the shift from acute to chronic illness makes it difficult to care for people in hospitals and rest homes. Moreover, elderly people, if given a choice, want to stay at home as long as possible. In this article, the methodologies to develop a cloud-based semantic system, offering valuable information and knowledge-based services, are presented.

A cross-sectional study was conducted among 602 Belgian adolescents to analyse their sun protection habits. The results show that Belgian adolescents stay in the sun for a long time, even in periods when ultraviolet radiation is very damaging. Of all respondents, 70% exposed themselves for at least 3 h to the sun on sunny days.

In a laboratory investigation of tadpoles of 4 Australian frogs, Limnodynastes peronii, Limnodynastes tasmaniensis, Litoria aurea, and Litoria peronii, there was no evidence of active predation on larvae of Culex annulirostris. The mortality of larvae was greatest when exposed to the tadpoles of Litoria spp., which may have been the result of specific foraging behavior.

Using larval Cx. annulirostris mosquitoes, this study compared the predation rate of Pseudomugil signifer and Gambusia holbrooki for four larval instars, three prey densities, and three vegetation densities. There was no significant difference in the quantity of first, second, and third instar larvae consumed by the two fish species after 24 h.
