: Microsporidia, particularly and , are emerging opportunistic pathogens that pose significant health risks to immunocompromised individuals, especially people living with HIV (PLHIV). Despite the global recognition of microsporidia's impact, there has been limited research on their prevalence and associated risk factors in Ecuador.
