A look at an interactive classroom-based drug abuse prevention program: interactive contents and suggestions for research.

Interactivity has been shown to be a critical element of effective drug abuse prevention programs. This study examined the contents of Project Towards No Drug Abuse, a program that has revealed strong effects only when delivered in a highly interactive version. Types of teacher and student interactive messages were identified.

Tracking procedures for locating high-risk youth.

Few published works are available that provide a comprehensive description of tracking procedures. This article describes the data collection tracking protocol that was used in Project Towards No Drug Abuse (Project TND), to follow high-risk youth over a 5 1/2 year period. Youth were followed from 1994 through 2000.
