Introduction: This investigation examines the outcomes of the Pathways HUB Community Action, a Maternal and Infant Mortality HUB in NE Ohio. The purpose of a HUB is to provide a one-stop point of contact for primarily minority pregnant women who are low-income and are at high risk for pregnancy complications. As a HUB client, each mother is assigned a community health worker who provides wrap-around support across 20 identified areas of potential need.

Since the introduction of iPads in 2010, educators have been working to effectively incorporate this technology as a supplement to curriculum and a tool to increase student engagement and student achievement. The current investigation examines the effectiveness of iPad applications in supporting the instruction of students identified on the autism spectrum. Specifically, this investigation provides a meta-analysis of available research that examines the use of iPad technology and its impact on learning outcomes for students with autism.

The Kaiser Family Foundation released a report entitled Kids and Media Use in the United States that concluded that children's use of media--including television, computers, Internet, video games, and phones--may be one of the primary contributor's to the poor fitness and obesity of many of today's adolescents. The present study examines the potential of increasing physical activity and decreasing media usage in a 14-year-old adolescent female by making time spent on the Internet and/or cell phone contingent on physical activity. Results of this investigation indicate that requiring the participant to earn her media-usage time did correspond with an increase in physical activity and a decrease in media-usage time relative to baseline measures.
