Purpose: Individuals in occupational environments are particularly susceptible to the impacts of pollutants; making it crucial to assess systemic inflammation markers. The study aimed to evaluate the immune response to inflammation through the assessment of a cytokine profile in individuals working in vulnerable conditions exposed to heavy metals.
Methods: A total of 137 adults participated in this study from three work environments: brickyards, waste scavenging and quarries.
Currently, the use of bio-inputs is increasing due to the need to reduce the use of agrochemicals. However, one of the limitations is to preserve the viability of the living microorganisms, so it is important to find an alternative that allows us to obtain different metabolites to produce it. We evaluated three different interactions (contact, diffusible and volatile compounds) in (At) seedlings with the strain M10 and its filtered secondary metabolites (M10F).

Background: Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is one of the main causes of death and disability worldwide. The etiology of CVD is often associated with multiple risk factors, with environmental factors receiving considerable attention. Individuals with precarious jobs are among the groups most affected by chronic exposure to environmental pollutants.

The aim of the study was to evaluate renal function in three groups of precarious workers: garbage recyclers (REC), quarry workers (CAN), and brick makers (LAD). Samples of urine and blood were collected to evaluate clinical parameters and the metal levels in urine was measured using ICP-MS. REC group had the highest concentrations of chromium in urine (36.

MPs are plastic particles with a size between 1 micron and 5 mm (1 µm-5mm); those measuring less than 1 µm are known as nanoplastics (NPs). MP is distributed in the environment in various physical forms that depend on the degradation process, the erosion factors to which it was subjected, or the original form in which it was intentionally manufactured.

Specifically, the study aims to provide insight on the health status of workers who are vulnerable due to the informal nature of their employment. Through the evaluation of three different scenarios of precarious employment (n = 110), including workers in mercury miner (workers A), brick-kilns (workers B), and quarries workers (workers C).

Therefore, early detection is crucial to identify women who require clinical monitoring during pregnancy and to evaluate new preventive therapies before clinical symptoms occur.
Methods: The chemical fingerprints of the urine from three study groups pregnant with Preeclampsia, Healthy Pregnant (HP) and pregnant at High Risk of Preeclampsia (HRP) were evaluated using an electronic nose and the data obtained were subjected to principal component analysis (PCA), Canonical Analysis of Principal Coordinates (CAP), Partial Least Squares - Discriminant Analysis (PLS-DA) and ROC curves to determine the diagnostic power of the test.

Metabolomics is a potential tool for the discovery of new biomarkers in the early diagnosis of diseases. An ultra-fast gas chromatography system equipped to an electronic nose detector (FGC eNose) was used to identify the metabolomic profile of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) in type 2 diabetes (T2D) urine from Mexican population. A cross-sectional, comparative, and clinical study with translational approach was performed.
