Factors Influencing Informed Consent Preferences in Digital Health Research: Survey Study of Prospective Participants.

Background: Readability is important to consider when developing informed consent communications for prospective research participants, but not the most important consideration. Other factors to consider relate to learning preferences and literacy needs of people recruited to participate in research, as these factors can influence understanding of consent communications. To promote understanding among prospective participants, researchers should take a human-centered approach to develop consent communications.

Diversity of wasps (Hymenoptera) in alfalfa (Medicago sativa L.) farms in Basrah Governorate, Southern Iraq.

Studies on the diversity of parasitoid wasps in agroecosystems exemplify the first stage of recognizing the best species to be used in biological control programs. There is an increased effort to recognize the diversity of pests in agroecosystems, but information on agricultural environments in Iraq is still unknown. This study is interested in the diversity of wasps in a cultivated area in Basrah governorate and the identification of dominant species for potential application in biological control studies.

Considerations for the Design of Informed Consent in Digital Health Research: Participant Perspectives.

The research team, prospective participants, and written materials all influence the success of the informed consent process. As digital health research becomes more prevalent, new challenges for successful informed consent are introduced. This exploratory research utilized a human centered design process in which 19 people were enrolled to participate in one of four online focus-groups.

Background And Study Aims: Close monitoring of disease activity in IBD patients is essential to avoid long term complications. Although endoscopic assessment is the ideal monitoring tool, the usage of noninvasive biomarkers is more practical and patient friendly. We aimed to study the performance of Interleukin-6(IL-6) and Serum Amyloid A(SAA) as serum biomarkers in assessment of the disease activity of IBD patients in correlation to C-reactive protein (CRP), Fecal Calprotectin (FC) and endoscopic indices.

Laser therapy has shown effectiveness in promoting wound healing by influencing various physiological factors such as blood flow, cytokines, histamine, nerve signals, lymphocyte function, tissue oxygenation, and cell growth. This study aims to evaluate the therapeutic efficacy of Photobiomodulation (PBM) treatment, by using diode laser, in modifying the levels of interleukin-1 beta (IL1β) and transforming growth factor beta-1 (TGFβ-1) in patients diagnosed with aphthous stomatitis. A before-after interventional design was conducted over 10 months with 20 subjects.

Effects of housing systems and laying phases on external and internal egg quality characteristics of indigenous guinea fowl hens.

The study investigated the effect of housing system and laying phases on the internal and external qualities of guinea fowl eggs laid in three different housing systems. The trial involved the use of 117, 34-wk-old guinea fowl hens which were assigned to three housing types, which were battery cages, deep litter, and deep litter housing systems with free runs, which had the same dimensions as deep litter houses but with free run and open-air space to allow the birds to have free access to soil and exhibit natural behavior. The laying phases of the birds were partitioned into three (36 to 40, 41 to 45, and 46 to 50 wk of age).

Background: As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, digital exposure notification systems are increasingly used to support traditional contact tracing and other preventive strategies. Likewise, a plethora of COVID-19 mobile applications have emerged. Objective: To characterize the global landscape of pandemic related mobile applications, including digital exposure notification and contact tracing tools.

Endurance training and L-arginine intake: Their effect on antioxidant indices in the heart muscles of rats.

One of the side effects of doing sports activities is the increase of free radicals and oxidative stress. The present study aimed to investigate the effect of 8 weeks of increasing endurance training with L-arginine supplementation on oxidative indices in the cardiac organ of male Wistar rats. 32 male Wistar rats were divided into four groups control, L-arginine, endurance training, and L-arginine plus endurance training.

Health-related factors of the Iraqi adult population during the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic: physical activity, eating behavior, quality of life, general health, and mood states cross-talk.

Background: The lockdown and social distancing caused by Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) may have changed Physical Activity Level (PAL), eating behavior, and health habits due to long-term confinement worldwide.

Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the PAL, eating behavior, Quality of Life (QoL), General Health (GH), and mood states during COVID-19 confinement in a large sample of Iraqi adults.

Methods: 3738 healthy adults (age 18-70 years) residing in Halabjeh, Iraq answered the online questionnaires including the short form of international physical activity, GH, three-factor eating (TFEQ-R18), and a short form of the profile of mood states (POMS-SF) questionnaires.

Endobronchial mucormycosis diagnosed by fiberoptic bronchoscopy.

Introduction: Endobronchial mucormycosis is very rare with only few cases reported in the literature. Here, we report a rare presentation of pulmonary mucormycosis in a diabetic patient who presented with left lung collapse. Bronchoscopy revealed an endobronchial growth, mimicking a tumor, causing complete occlusion of the left main bronchus.

Objective: Incidence of ulcerative colitis is globally increased. Enteric infections and their role in ulcerative colitis flares present a common health problem and a unique clinical challenge. We aimed to identify enteropathogens in flared ulcerative colitis patients and their antimicrobial susceptibilities and relation with the disease activity.

Background: Hepatitis E virus (HEV) causes about 14 million infections with 300,000 deaths and 5,200 stillbirths worldwide annually. Characterization of Antigen Escape Mutations in Chronic HBV-Infected Patients in Upper Egypt.

Background: Mutations within the "a" determinant region (position 124-147) that is present in the major hydrophilic region (MHR, position 99-160) of the hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) are associated with vaccine-escape, lack of diagnosis, and failure to hepatitis B immunoglobulin (HBIG) therapy. Data regarding the amino acid changes of "a" determinant region of HBsAg are limited in Egypt. The prevalence and mutations in this region among chronic HBV (CHB)-infected patients in Upper Egypt are not known.

This is the first study to assess apoptotic body counts (ABC) by H&E and apoptotic indices (AI) by immunohistochemistry (IHC) in pediatric CD.

The factor structure of the measures was also assessed to determine their capacity and suitability for use. Participants were 1053 (639 males and 414 females) older adults with a mean age of 71.
