Methods: Eighty-seven patients diagnosed with brucellosis and 71 healthy cases (as a control group) were enrolled in this prospective study. All participants underwent a complete ophthalmic evaluation, including slit lamp biomicroscopic examination, Goldman applanation tonometry, specular microscopy, optical coherence tomography and fundoscopy with pupil dilation.
The effects of postharvest applications of hot water (HWT) (45, 50, and 55 °C), 1-MCP (1, 5, and 10 μL/L), and CaCl (1, 2, and 3%) on polygalacturonase (PG), pectin methylesterase (PME), -galactosidase (-Gal), -galactosidase (-Gal) and -1,4-glucanase (-1,4-Glu) activities, and the fruit firmness and cell wall composition of eggplant fruit were investigated. The results showed that the decrease in the eggplants firmness was delayed by HWT, 1-MCP, and CaCl treatments during storage compared with the control. However, HWTs were less effective than the 1-MCP and CaCl treatments.

In this report, we discuss two pre-term infants who had to receive high-frequency oscillatory ventilation as a rescue treatment due to severe pre-maturity. These two cases underwent successful bedside patent ductus arteriosus ligation under high-frequency oscillatory ventilation, and this shows us that patent ductus arteriosus ligation can be performed successfully in neonates even under high-frequency oscillatory ventilation.

If the diagnosis and treatment of this pathology are not made early in life fetal demise may become inevitable. We herein present a neonate with central cyanosis and congestive heart failure due to rupture of an anterior leaflet chordae resulting in severe insufficiency of the tricuspid valve who was treated with appropriate surgery.

Aim: To investigate the effects of resveratrol on oxidative stress and inflammation parameters and histological alterations in cisplatin-induced optic nerve damage in a mouse model.
Material And Method: Thirty-six albino Wistar male rats were divided into three groups as control, 5 mg/kg cisplatin-administered (Cis) and 5 mg/kg cisplatin + 25 mg/kg resveratrol-administered (Cis + Res) animals. At the end of the experimental period, the rats were sacrificed with high-dose (50 mg/kg) thiopental sodium, and their optic nerves were dissected.
The study was conducted to determine the effects of cultivar, harvest period and their interaction on the hydrophilic phenolic components extra virgin olive oils of the cultivars 'Ayvalık', 'Memecik' and 'Topakaşı'. Olives were collected at three different harvesting periods; (1) early harvest period-1 (Beginning of spotting), (2) early harvest period-2 (End of spotting), and (3) optimum harvest period. Oils were extracted using an abencor system.

Materials And Methods: A total of 146 eyes belonging to 146 healthy children (74 girls, 72 boys) aged 6 to 16 years were included in this prospective study. Refraction and biometry measurements were performed.
Background: We aimed to compare the morphological characteristics of corneal endothelial cells in type 2 diabetic patients and age-matched healthy subjects by specular microscopy. We also aimed to determine the association of corneal morphological features with the general characteristics and laboratory data of diabetic patients, including disease duration, haemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) levels and urine albumin creatinine ratio.
Methods: A total of 195 diabetic patients and 100 healthy controls were enrolled in the study.
Purpose: The aim of this study was to determine the macular changes using optical coherence tomography (OCT) and OCT-angiography (OCT-A) in eyes with high myopia. Determining the alterations in vascular structures can provide a clearer understanding of the pathophysiological mechanisms of this disease and help define new treatment options and preventive measures.
Materials And Methods: Ninety-two patients with high myopia (axial length ≥ 26 mm) and 70 control cases without any known systemic or ocular diseases were enrolled in this prospective study.
Purpose: Signal peptide-CUB-Epidermal growth factor-like domain-containing protein 1 (SCUBE-1) is a protein expressed on the cell surface of endothelial cells and platelets. We aimed to determine the alterations in SCUBE-1 levels in patients at different stages of diabetic retinopathy (DR).
Materials And Methods: Participants were grouped into 4 regarding the presence and stage of diabetic retinopathy as follows: control group (n 32), patients without DR (n 39), patients with background DR (n 42) and patients with proliferative DR (n 55).

VDs of the SCP, deep capillary plexus (DCP), retinal peripapillary capillary plexus (RPCP) and FAZ area, perimeter and circularity index (CI) along with the structural OCT measurements were scanned by using the Nidek's RS-3000 Advance OCT-A device in healthy subjects.
