This study aims to fill a crucial gap in our understanding of neuroblastoma treatment by investigating the potential molecular impacts of short- and long-term pulsed magnetic field exposure on the neuronal apoptosis mechanism in an in vitro model of neuroblastoma treated with oleic acid (OA).
Materials And Methods: Cells were cultured and divided into six following experimental groups: (I) Nontreated group (NT); (II) OA-treated group (OA); (III) Group treated with OA after being exposed to the pulsed magnetic field for 15-min (15 min PEMF + OA); (IV) Group treated with OA after being exposed to the pulsed magnetic field for 12 h (12 h PEMF + OA); (V) Group exposed to the pulsed magnetic field for 15 min (15 min PEMF); and (VI) Group exposed to the pulsed magnetic field for 12 h (12 h PEMF).
Background: Left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH), including hypertensive LVH, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) and cardiac amyloidosis (CA), is a commonly encountered condition in cardiology practice, presenting challenges in differential diagnosis. In this study, we aimed to investigate the importance of echocardiographic evaluation of the inferior vena cava (IVC) in distinguishing LVH subtypes including hypertensive LVH, HCM, and CA.
Methods: In this retrospective study, patients with common causes of LVH including hypertensive LVH, HCM, and CA were included.

This study aimed to determine the frequency of ED encountered in ICU patients to evaluate the relationship of ED with drugs.
Methods: This prospective, multicenter study was conducted in the medical and anesthesiology ICUs of two training and research hospitals and included patients with at least one ED during admission or hospitalization in the ICUs.
Objectives: Drug-related problems (DRPs) result in serious problems among hospitalized patients, high rates of morbidity and mortality, and increased healthcare costs. This study aimed to identify DRPs by clinical pharmacist-led medication review in hospitalized probable patients with coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) during the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Materials And Methods: This retrospective cross-sectional study was conducted at the COVID-19 inpatient services of a tertiary university hospital in Türkiye for 3 months (between March 2020 and June 2020) and included hospitalized confirmed or probable COVID-19 patients.
Objective: This study aimed to define the predictors of critical illness development within 28 days postadmission during the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Materials And Methods: We conducted a prospective cohort study including 477 PCR-positive COVID-19 patients admitted to a tertiary care hospital in Istanbul from March 12 to May 12, 2020.
Results: The most common presenting symptoms were cough, dyspnea, and fatigue.
(1) : Systemic sclerosis (SSc) is a rare systemic disease, which often affects the esophagus, leading to dilation and complications such as dysphagia and reflux. Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is a chronic condition with recurrent episodes of upper airway collapsibility and is known to impair quality of life (QoL). The primary aim of this study was to investigate the occurrence of esophagus dilation in patients with SSc and concomitant OSA and, further, to address the impact of these conditions on QoL.

Deterioration of balance and increasing fear of falling are two of the most significant extrapulmonary manifestations. Although pulmonary rehabilitation (PR) is well-known and effective for COPD patients, there is a need for alternative treatments to enhance balance and alleviate concerns about falling.

Although, pulmonary artery aneurysm (PAA) is accepted as the prototypic arterial disorder, an increasing presence of pulmonary artery thrombosis (PAT) with or without aneurysms was also reported in recent studies. In this study, we aimed to describe computed tomography pulmonary angiography (CTPA) findings of pulmonary involvement and its correlation with symptoms and acute phase response in BD.

Gold nanoparticles were synthesized via the Turkevich method and tested for antimicrobial effects using broth microdilution. Cell culture studies were performed using a cytotoxicity assay with alamarBlue™.

Objective: Pannus overgrowth is a chronic inflammatory process that can cause valve dysfunction and threaten the durability of prosthetic valves. Bileaflet mechanical mitral valve can be implanted in either an anatomical (parallel to the anatomical axis) or nonanatomical (perpendicular or oblique to the anatomical axis) orientation. The effect of the rotational orientation of the bileaflet mechanical mitral valve on excessive pannus enlargement is unknown.

Generally, on control chest imaging, individuals who have been cured of the disease usually show complete remission; however, in severe cases, residual pulmonary fibrosis, other abnormalities, and, rarely, lung cavitation can be observed. In this retrospective descriptive study, we aimed to describe the clinical, radiological, and laboratory characteristics of patients who developed lung cavitation in the course of SARS-CoV-2 disease recovery.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate clinical and laboratory risk factors, as well as related medications such as anticoagulants, to predict the risk of thromboembolic disease and/or death in COVID-19 patients. Methods Over a period of 14 months (from August 2020 to September 2021), a total of 145 consecutive patients with signs and symptoms suspicious of pulmonary embolism (PE) were referred for perfusion single-photon emission computed tomography/computed tomography (Q SPECT/CT).

Aside from that, some conditions or treatments that cause immunosuppression can alter the course of the disease, leading to worse outcomes. The primary goal of this study is to compare the clinical presentation, laboratory analysis, radiological findings, and outcomes of patients with COVID-19 with and without immunosuppression.

Among the hematological parameters, neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and platelet/ lymphocyte ratio (PLR) have been associated with inflammatory state, microvascular damage and ischemia. It is well-known that these ratios increase in idiopathic sudden sensorineural hearing loss (ISSHL). In ISSHL, different audiographic features may reflect different disease mechanisms.
