Background And Purpose: Hand fractures are commonly presented in emergency departments, yet diagnostic errors persist, leading to potential complications. The use of artificial intelligence (AI) in fracture detection has shown promise, but research focusing on hand metacarpal and phalangeal fractures remains limited. We aimed to train and evaluate a convolutional neural network (CNN) model to diagnose metacarpal and phalangeal fractures using plain radiographs according to the AO/OTA classification system and custom classifiers.

Complex post-traumatic stress disorder (CPTSD) is marked by mood dysregulation, negative self-concept, and impaired interpersonal relationships, in addition to the classic symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The relationship between CPTSD and dissociative amnesia, as well as whether CPTSD should be considered a dissociative subtype, remains uncertain in the literature.

Nonadherence to medication is one of the most important factors in organ rejection and an important problem in pediatric renal transplant and an important cause of graft failure. Adherence is the most important modifiable factor that affects treatment outcomes.

The objective of this study is to assess the relation of MAP with systolic and diastolic blood pressure (BP) in diagnosing hypertension on 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM), while also examining its diagnostic effectiveness.
Methods: This retrospective study analyzed 24-hour ABPM of 532 adults.
Objective: The caregiver burden in the relatives of patients with schizophrenia increases mental health problems in patients, complicates coping with the illness for families, and adversely affects the course of the illness. This study aims to investigate the effects of patients' psychopathology severity and cognitive functions on caregiver burden.
Method: Forty-four patients diagnosed with schizophrenia according to DSM-5 and their primary caregivers were included in this cross-sectional descriptive study.
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between peripheral immune cell markers and cognitive functions in patients with schizophrenia and healthy controls.
Methods: Thirty-five patients diagnosed with schizophrenia with a stable course and a control group of 35 individuals matched in terms of sex, education, and age were included in this cross-sectional study. The Wisconsin Card Sorting Test (WCST), the Rey Auditory Verbal Learning Test (RAVLT), and the Stroop Test were used for neuropsychological evaluation.
Objectives: The aim of this study was to investigate the caregiver burden (CB) of informal caregivers for stroke survivors with and without dysphagia and to assess the relationship between the CB levels of informal caregivers for stroke survivors with dysphagia, patients' swallowing-related quality of life (QoL), and patients' stroke-specific QoL.
Patients And Methods: This multi-center, prospective, cross-sectional study included a total of 120 stroke patients (76 males, 44 females; mean age: 61.1±12.
The present study aimed to enhance the survivability of the encapsulated biocomposites of Lactiplantibacillus plantarum AB6-25 and Saccharomyces boulardii T8-3C within the gastrointestinal system (GIS) and during storage period. AB6-25 and T8-3C were individually co-encapsulated using either lactobionic acid (LBA) in Na-alginate (ALG)/demineralized whey powder (DWP) or solely potential probiotics in ALG microcapsules. Free probiotic cells were utilized as the control group.

The study constituted several experimental cohorts, including AB6-25, isolated from a human stool sample; K2, sourced from a koumiss sample; 3B7, derived from a traditional yogurt sample; and identical lactic acid bacteria (LAB) in combination with yeast ( T8-3C from chicken feces) strains. Two distinct iterations of probiotic-fermented dairy drinks were generated by introducing subcultured microorganism cultures: LAB strains at a concentration of 1% each (designated as combination A) and a blend of LAB strains at 1% each along with T8-3C at 0.

This study was in the form of a case study pattern, one of the qualitative research methods aimed to identify the psychosocial effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the primary school children of health professionals. Its sample consisted of health professionals ( = 60) and their children ( = 60), who were all at primary school.

However, data regarding the effectiveness of COVID-19 vaccines in reducing mortality among critically ill patients with COVID-19 remains unclear.
Aims: To determine the vaccination status and investigate the impact of the COVID-19 vaccine on the 28-day mortality in critically ill patients with COVID-19.
Plastic pollution has threatened biodiversity and human health by shrinking habitats, reducing food quality, and limiting the activities of organisms. Therefore, global interest in discovering novel enzymes capable of degrading plastics has increased considerably. Within this context, the functional metagenomic approach, which allows for unlocking the functional potential of uncultivable microbial biodiversity, was used to discover a plastic-degrading enzyme.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFAquatic invertebrates play a pivotal role in (eco)toxicological assessments because they offer ethical, cost-effective and repeatable testing options. Additionally, their significance in the food chain and their ability to represent diverse aquatic ecosystems make them valuable subjects for (eco)toxicological studies. To ensure consistency and comparability across studies, international (eco)toxicology guidelines have been used to establish standardised methods and protocols for data collection, analysis and interpretation.

Patients And Methods: In the single-blinded randomized controlled study conducted between January 2018 and June 2018, 34 pregnant women (mean age: 29.7±6.
The aim of this study was to analyze the pregnancy process, especially the Familial Mediterranean fever (FMF) disease course and attack types during pregnancy, and to examine the relationship between disease-related factors and female infertility in FMF patients. The study, which was planned in a multicenter national network, included 643 female patients. 435 female patients who had regular sexual intercourse were questioned in terms of infertility.

As they are new systems, research examining their usefulness has been well received. The aim of this study is to research the effects of HS on disease activity, quality of life and muscle strength in patients with ankylosing spondylitis (AS).

Method: In this study, we examined the perception and memory biases in schizophrenia patients with (Sch/D; n = 31) and without delusions (Sch/Nd; n = 32) and compared them with healthy controls (HCs; n = 35). We used the Deese Roediger McDermott (DRM) Paradigm and the Noise Task to measure the false memory and illusory pattern perception (IPP) biases, respectively.
