Background: Repository corticotropin injection (RCI) has been suggested to exert immunomodulatory and anti-inflammatory effects in ocular inflammation. The index retrospective study aimed to evaluate the efficacy and tolerability of subcutaneous RCI in patients with active scleritis or uveitis.
Main Body: Medical records of patients who were diagnosed with different types of active scleritis or uveitis and received RCI for more than six months at a tertiary eye center were reviewed.
Aims/background: Fear of childbirth (FoC) and its extreme form, tokophobia, is a clinical condition that can lead to many negative consequences, and its importance is increasingly understood. This article aims to assess the severity of FoC and anxiety levels according to different attachment styles and to investigate the relationships between these factors.
Design/methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted in a state hospital in the largest city in Turkey.
We wrote the letter in response to the insightful comments made by Dr. Vassallo J regarding our recently published study, “Association of Oral Montelukast with Reduced Odds of Developing Exudative Age-Related Macular Degeneration.” Our study underscored the potential treatment for AMD through managing mast cell activation.

Material And Methods: Pelvic MRI measurements and computer-based medical records of women diagnosed with HD between January 2018 and March 2021 were analyzed. Parameters including pubococcygeal distance, puborectal distance, posterior anorectal angle, obturator internus muscle area, presence of levator ani muscle defect, genital hiatus length, vaginal length, uterocervical angle, cervix-upper vagina angle, and cervix-middle vagina angle were evaluated.
The morphological characteristics of tissue engineering scaffolds, such as pore and window diameters, are crucial, as they directly impact cell-material interactions, attachment, spreading, infiltration of the cells, degradation rate and the mechanical properties of the scaffolds. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) is one of the most commonly used techniques for characterizing the microarchitecture of tissue engineering scaffolds due to its advantages, such as being easily accessible and having a short examination time. However, SEM images provide qualitative data that need to be manually measured using software such as ImageJ to quantify the morphological features of the scaffolds.

Method: This retrospective case-control study was conducted at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Tepecik Education and Research Hospital, Izmir, Turkey.
Suture-associated infections on surgical sites are known to be related to the surface characteristics of the sutures. The present study aimed to fabricate a novel functional suture for surgical procedures and characterize its antioxidative, antimicrobial, and in vitro wound healing properties. St John's wort, , extract (eHp), and biogenic silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) have been combined and used for coating the silk sutures.

When conservative management fails, surgical sphincterotomy can be successful. This retrospective study from a single center in Turkey included 188 patients with chronic anal fissures and aimed to compare outcomes from open and closed sphincterotomy.

This study identifies four OBPs of and analyses their expression at three stages of growth: larvae, adult males and adult females.

The periodontal tissue compartment is an anatomical tissue interface formed from the periodontal ligament, gingiva, cementum, and bone. This multifaceted composition makes tissue engineering strategies challenging to develop due to the interface of hard and soft tissues requiring multiphase scaffolds to recreate the native tissue architecture.

Real-real time CO-sensitive freshness indicators, phenol red (PR) and bromothymol blue (BTB) dyes, in three-layer system using cellulose based binder was developed to determine the freshness/spoilage of chicken breast. The developed indicators were used to monitor chicken meat spoilage packaged in polyamide/polyethylene (PA/PE) pouches under air and 100% nitrogen (N) at 4 °C for 10 days. Changes in the ΔE and ΔRGB values of the indicators, CO/O gas composition of packs, and chemical (TVBN, pH, trimethylamine), microbial, and sensory quality parameters of chicken breast meat were analyzed.

Methods: This retrospective case-control study was conducted at our institution between January 2022 and December 2022, involving patients diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome. Menstrual periods, hyperandrogenemic findings, and ultrasound reports of the patients were retrieved from our hospital's database.
Objective: We aimed to compare the inflammatory response with alterations in hemogram parameters, in patients who underwent laparoscopic hysterectomy and - for benign gynecologic conditions with ligasure plus monopolar cautery or harmonic plus conventional bipolar cautery.
Methods: Patients who underwent Laparoscopic hysterectomy with bilateral - between January 2017 and January 2022 for benign gynecologic pathology were identified. Patients were divided into two group, according to instruments used during surgery.
