We conducted a comparative study of the mammary gland microbiota in female Wistar rats and the microbiota associated with breast cancer (BC) induced by the administration of N-methyl-N-nitrosourea, after surgical treatment, photodynamic therapy (PDT), and chemotherapy (CT). Selective nutrient media and a smear-fingerprint technique were used to study the microbiota. Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, and Lactobacillus were found in the mammary glands of intact rats.

LPS did not affect transepithelial resistance or sodium fluorescein permeability, but increased the levels of claudin-3 and claudin-4 in enterocytes, suggesting strengthening of the paracellular intestinal barrier. Transcellular permeability was evaluated by electron microscopy based on the number of vesicular structures in the cytoplasm of different cell types.

It was found that doxorubicin administered alone or in combination with atorvastatin induces disturbances of varying severity in cardiomyocyte ultrastructure indicating the development of regenerative and plastic myocardial insufficiency. In case of isolated administration of atorvastatin, lytic changes in myofibrils, increased autophagic processes, and segregation of the fibrillar and granular components in the nucleoli appeared in the ultrastructure of some cardiomyocytes with increasing the observation period.

Its incidence has significantly risen because of the COVID-19 pandemic and tends only to increase. Here, we propose an alternative to the donor trachea and synthetic prostheses-the tracheal equivalent.

This study aims at revealing the influence of particular 3D cell systems' parameters such as the components' concentration, gel thickness, cell density, on the cell viability and applicability of standard assays. Here, we present an approach to achieving adequate and reproducible results on the cell viability in 3D collagen- and fibrin-based systems using the Live/Dead, AlamarBlue, and PicoGreen assays.

Despite the promising progress in advanced targeted therapies, HCC is the fourth leading cause of cancer death worldwide. Radionuclide therapy can potentially be a practical targeted approach to address this concern.

Materials And Methods: We collected medical records of the intensive care unit patients submitted by the local COVID-19 hospitals across Russia to the Federal Center for the Critical Care at the Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University (Sechenov University). Septic shock in crticially ill patients requiring mechanical ventilation was defined as a need in vasopressors to maintain blood pressure.
Background: The epidemiology, clinical course, and outcomes of patients with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in the Russian population are unknown. Information on the differences between laboratory-confirmed and clinically diagnosed COVID-19 in real-life settings is lacking.
Methods: We extracted data from the medical records of adult patients who were consecutively admitted for suspected COVID-19 infection in Moscow between 8 April and 28 May 2020.
Ultrastructural reorganization of liver cells after isolated injections of cyclophosphamide, betulonic acid or its β-alanylamide, and combined treatment with the cytostatic and each of the triterpenoids is studied. Cyclophosphamide causes significant ultrastructural changes in all intracellular compartments of hepatocytes. Both triterpenoids cause moderate cytotoxic and stimulatory effects on the liver cell populations (hepatocytes, sinusoidal endotheliocytes, and Kupffer cells), when used alone.

The focus is on the poorly studied and difficult to diagnose idiopathic nonspecific interstitial pneumonia, isolated in a separate nosological form and included in the classification only in 2002. The paper presents the features of the clinical, radiological, histological picture of idiopathic nonspecific interstitial pneumonia in comparison with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.

The hydroxylating activity of liver microsomes of C57Bl/6Mv mice towards p-nitrophenol increased more than 4-fold 3 days after injection of TCPOBOP. Injection of diethylnitrosamine 3 days after TCPOBOP caused a lesser body weight loss and decrease of food consumption in C57Bl/6Mv mice than in response to diethylnitrosamine without preinduction.

Aim: Detection of bactericidal effect of pulse-periodic corona discharge (PPCD) on cells and biofilms of Escherichia coli M17.
Materials And Methods: A gas-discharge device was created based on PPCD in air with power supply parameters: amplitude values of voltage of 30 - 60 kV, pulse repetition rate of 250 - 400 kHz. Ultrastructure changes in cells and biofilms of E.
Helicobacter pylori persistence in patients with chronic gastritis is associated with a complex of nonspecific structural reactions, the type of these reactions correlates with the severity of infection: catarrhal fibrotic changes in the gastric mucosa predominate in cases with manifest colonization, while the absence of H. pylori is associated with predominance of fibrotic process. Analysis of the incidence of some pathomorphological phenomena (degeneration, atrophy, metaplasia, and dysplasia of the surface epithelium) shows no relationship between the presence of H.

Pronounced mosaicism of ultrastructural changes in hepatocytes was associated with polymorphic cytopathic effects caused by RNA-genome hepatitis C virus and DNA-genome hepatitis B virus. The destructive component of the tubular compartment predominated in renal biopsy specimens from patients, with subsequent degeneration of the tubular epithelium associated with progressive interstitial fi brosis.

In this paper, the waste oil management system in Finland is analysed using the systems thinking approach to identify the main system components and to describe the interactions between them. The results of analysing the Finnish system increase the understanding of the main factors affecting the performance of waste oil management.

Small-vesicular subcytolemmal lipid infiltration of hepatocytes was detected, presumably associated with hepatitis C virus replication phase. Characteristic subcytolemmal location of the lipid droplets can reflect their involvement in virus transport from the cell and indicate a virus-induced nature of lipid metabolism disorders.

The composition and heating value information is generally available, but the renewable energy share or heating values of different fractions of waste have rarely been determined. In this study, data from Finnish studies concerning the composition and energy content of mixed MSW were collected, new experimental data on the compositions, heating values and renewable share of energy were presented and the results were compared to the estimations concluded from earlier international studies.

Large foci of bile components in hepatocytes led to cell damage, eventuating in cell destruction and death. The cholestatic variant of mixed infection was characterized by destructive necrotic changes in hepatocytes and progressive fibrosis of the liver.
