The incidence of synchronous second primary cancer (SSPC) with DIfferentiated Thyroid Cancers (DTC) is a very rare entity. Very few case reports and case series were published in the literature. To enumerate the clinicopathological data of patients with DTC with SSPC.

Understanding how specific genetic modifications influence observable bacterial behaviors is crucial for advancing these fields. In this study, we propose a supervised model to classify bacteria harboring single gene modifications to draw connections between phenotype and genotype.

Methods: INVIGORATE-1 (NCT04156620) was a randomized, double-blind, parallel-group, phase 3 trial in patients with active axSpA (either radiographic or nonradiographic). Patients were randomized one to one to receive IV secukinumab (6 mg/kg at baseline followed by 3 mg/kg every four weeks) or IV placebo for 16 weeks.
Background: In July 2011, Cystic Fibrosis (CF) was added to the Newborn Bloodspot Screening Programme in Ireland. The Irish Comparative Outcomes Study (ICOS) is a historical cohort study established to compare outcomes between clinically-detected and screen-detected children with CF. Here we present the results of economic analysis comparing direct healthcare costs in the first 2 years of life of children born between mid-2008 and mid-2016, in the pre-CF transmembrane conductance regulator modulator era.

Cadaveric research plays an important role in determining optimal fracture treatment. This scoping review aims to provide insight into cadaveric research that has been conducted on calcaneal fractures, including biomechanics, fixation, approaches and radiographic studies.

Methods: Using a multicentre study design, independent of registry data, we included adult patients sustaining a PPF around a knee arthroplasty between 1 January 2010 and 31 December 2019.

Lip and oral cavity SCC account for 2nd highest incidence of cancers and 3rd most common cause of mortality from cancer in India. Reconstruction of defects of central arch invading cancers results in poor cosmetic and functional outcomes if free flaps are not used. 30 patients with Oral SCC in the age group 20-75 years requiring central arch segmental mandibulectomy were included.

Brown Tumour or Osteitis fibrous cystic or Von-Recklinghausen disease of bone is a non-malignant condition due to abnormal metabolism of bones in hyperparathyroidism. Although pathognomonic of hyperparathyroidism, brown tumours are rare and only case reports are found in literature. We report a case of brown tumour of mandible with recurrent episodes of bleeding.

In this collaborative study, we aimed to investigate the impact of patient demographics, fracture characteristics, and modes of management on in-hospital mortality of PPFs involving the hip.
Methods: Using a multi-centre cohort study design, we retrospectively identified adults presenting with a PPF around the hip over a 10-year period.

Diagnostic dilemma, owing to the inconclusiveness of biopsy results, often leaves us with limited options to offer to the patients upfront, amongst the various armamentarium available. We hereby report a rare case of extramedullary plasmacytoma, whose diagnosis was established only on the final histopathology report with the aid of immunohistochemistry. A 50-year-old gentleman presented to our outpatient setup with computed tomography suggestive of a well-defined endobronchial mass occupying the left lower lobe bronchus.

Methods: An observational case-control study was conducted comparing pediatric patients (1 month-21 years) with convulsive SE whose seizures stopped after benzodiazepine (BZD) and a single second-line antiseizure medication (ASM) (responsive established status epilepticus [rESE]) with patients requiring more than a BZD and a single second-line ASM to stop their seizures (RSE). These subpopulations were obtained from the pediatric Status Epilepticus Research Group study cohort.
Background: Ondansetron may be beneficial in irritable bowel syndrome with diarrhoea (IBS-D).
Aim: To conduct a 12-week parallel group, randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial of ondansetron 4 mg o.d.

Background: Talus fractures are rare (<1% of all fractures), and their rarity limits the number of studies available to guide management. In instances such as this, cadaveric studies can play an important role. The purpose of this scoping review was to identify and describe the current body of literature on cadaveric studies of fractures of the talus.

We have provided a single comprehensive guideline for both paediatric and adult gastroenterologists on current best practice for the evaluation and management of EoE.
Methods: The Oesophageal Section of the British Society of Gastroenterology was commissioned by the Clinical Standards Service Committee to develop these guidelines.

Background: Phelan McDermid syndrome (PMS) is a neurogenetic condition associated with a high prevalence of intellectual disability (ID) and autism spectrum disorder (ASD). This study provides a more comprehensive and quantitative profile of repetitive behaviors within the context of ID seen with the condition.
Methods: Individuals age 3-21 years with a confirmed PMS diagnosis participated in a multicenter observational study evaluating the phenotype and natural history of the disorder.
Introduction: Surface electrical impedance myography (sEIM) has the potential for providing information on muscle composition and structure noninvasively. We sought to evaluate its use to predict myofiber size and connective tissue deposition in the D2-mdx model of Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD).
Methods: We applied a prediction algorithm, the least absolute shrinkage and selection operator, to select specific EIM measurements obtained with surface and ex vivo EIM data from D2-mdx and wild-type (WT) mice (analyzed together or separately).
