The diaphragm was taken from the corpses of 80 humans of both sexes of adult age and was studied using the complex of preparation, injection, morphometric and of variational-statistical methods. A significant anatomical variation of the left inferior phrenic veins was found, that was characterized by different variants of their confluence, and variation of their diameters. Five variants of the confluence of the left inferior phrenic veins were defined.

The study material included 105 isolated bone preparations of the atlas, 100 radiographs of the cervical region of the spine, 650 spiral computed tomography (SCT) scans and 224 protocols of duplex ultrasound scanning of extracranial portions of brachiocephalic arteries and transcranial duplex scanning. Kimmerle anomaly was detected in 18% of cases in the bone material, in 17% of the cases of SCT and in 15% of cases during radiological examination. The anomaly more often is unilateral, rarely--bilateral; it may be located medially or laterally, while the vertebral artery canal more frequently is closed, less commonly--open.

To observe the formation of blood flow in the juxtaglomerular pathway in comparative-anatomical and age-related aspects, 484 kidneys from the representatives of the five classes of vertebrates, 50 kidneys of human fetuses and 193 kidneys of normal individuals of different ages were studied. Macro-microscopic, histological and morphometric methods were used. In all the mammalian animal species, the significant development of vascular glomeruli and peritubular capillaries was observed.

The peculiarities of the anatomical structure of the posterior-lower part of the right atrium (PLP-RA) were studied in autopsy material obtained from 120 men and women aged 22-72 years belonging to various constitutional types. It was found that in persons with pyknic constitution, long PLP-RA prevailed over the short one (59.4 [character: see text] 40.

The investigation included the study of 68 kidneys obtained from the persons of different age which died from mechanical asphyxia (control group) and 110 kidneys from the patients which died from cardiovascular failure that developed against a background of an ischemic heart disease, atherosclerosis, hypertension and their combinations. The studies were conducted using the complex of methods, which included macromicroscopic, histological, scanning electron microscopy and morphometry. In the patient group, vessel tortuosity, microvaricosities, contour irregularities and vessel deformations were found.

Using macromicroscopic and morphometric methods, the kidneys obtained from 29 mature and elderly persons which died from mechanical asphyxia (control group) and from 31 patients which died from cardiovascular failure that developed against a background of an ischemic heart disease (IHD), were studied. The changes of architectonics of renal venous blood vessels were found to depend on patient's age and IHD form. Most pronounced changes in venous vascular bed architectonics and volume were detected in an acute form of IHD, while those in chronic form of IHD were less expressed.

Spleen of 86 people of different ages was examined using the roentgenoanatomical, macromicroscopical, histological, morphometric and variation-statistical methods. It was established that, starting from the first mature age there was a steady reduction of the area occupied by arterial vessels, which reached its minimal value in senile age and in long-livers. In senescent persons, the atrophy of white and red pulp was established with a concomitant increase in spleen stromal elements content.

Morphological and immunofluorescent study of changes in the central nervous system of monkeys with mumps was carried out in order to determine the criteria of neurovirulence of different mumps virus strains. Quantitative evaluation showed a lower residual neurovirulence of L-3 strain vs. Jeryl Lynn and Urabe Am9 strains.

The study was performed in 25 kidneys of people who died from mechanic asphyxia and craniocerebral trauma and in 56 of those who died from cardiovascular diseases (hypertensive disease, chronic ischemic heart disease and their combination) with the use of histochemic, morphometric and variational statistic methods. It was established that in cardiovascular diseases studied ATPase and alkaline phosphatase activity increased in vessels mainly in juxtamedullary zone of the kidneys substantia alba. The enzymatic activity changes studied are obviously connected with the functional load increase at this zone of kidneys and the juxtaglomerular shunt reinforcement.

The investigation was performed in 120 uterus preparations of the 16-80-yrs women without pathology of the internal sexual organs. A complex of morphological and morphometrical methods was used. The changes of the uterine wall vascularization, connected with ageing and with the functional reconstruction of arterial bed of parous women were described.

Different variants of distribution of human face skin arteries were studied in 104 preparations obtained from people of different age groups (newborns, children, adults). The complex of morphological research methods was used. The blood supply sources of various face regions were described, as well as the anastomoses between facial, occipital and superficial temporal arteries.

The work on the evaluation of the role of rubella infection in the development of congenital malformations in newborn infants, as well as the immunogenic activity and tolerability of live attenuated vaccine Rudivax (Pasteur Mérieux Connaught) was carried out in the process of selective immunization in the Perm region. The study made it possible to find out 15% of malformations in the structure of the congenital pathology of newborn infants, which appeared due to the infection of the fetus with rubella virus and were manifested by multiple development defects, congenital C.N.

A highly specific and sensitive enzyme immunoassay system for the quantitative determination of haprin in the air at a concentration of not less than 0.0001 mg of haprin per m3 of air has been developed. The assay system has been approved at the Svetloiarsk plant for the production of vitamin protein concentrate and can be used for the control and evaluation of haprin pollution of the environment at areas adjoining microbiological plants.

The investigation has been performed on 337 preparations of human kidneys and on 129 clinical angiograms of kidneys at different age without renal and cardiovascular system pathology. A complex of morphological techniques, mathematical method including, has been used. Peculiarities in architectonics of the intraorganic renal arterial vessels have been described during various age periods of postnatal ontogenesis; essential variations of the renal artery index have been revealed in newborns and adolescents.

The work has been performed on 40 normotensive and spontaneously hypertensive rats at the age of 6 months-1 year. In all the organs studied a direct dependence between the degree of changes in the intraorganic arterial walls and a relative content of the arterial vessels in the organ tissues has been revealed. The functional changes of the arterial bed of the organs mentioned in spontaneously hypertensive rats during hypertensive phase at the stage of stable hypertension, as a result of a prolonged adaptation transform into organic ones.

Architectonics of intraorganic arterial vessels in the cervical cortex, heart, kidneys and spleen have been investigated in 40 normotensive and spontaneously hypertensive rats, 6 months and 1 year old. In all the organs studied a direct dependence has been revealed between the degree of changes in the intraorganic arteries and relative content of the arterial vessels in the tissue organs. Functional changes of the arterial vessels in the organs studied observed during the hypertensive phase, transfer into the organic ones, as a result of prolonged adaptation, when the stage of a stable hypertension takes place.

The investigation has been performed in 190 normal kidneys and at certain cardiovascular diseases (atherosclerosis of the abdominal aorta, hypertension, chronic ischemic cardiac disease and their combination). Principally similar morphological structures are mobilized in the process of the renal arterial bed adaptation both normal and at the cardio-vascular diseases studied. Transition from certain functional changes to the organic ones in the muscular tunic and in the elastic membranes of large arteries, in correlation of afferent and deferent glomerular arterioles of all cortical layers is stated, as well as adaptive rearrangement of the microvessels and of the juxtamedullary shunt.
