Background: This study was designed to compare outcomes of extended adjuvant temozolomide (TMZ) vs standard adjuvant TMZ following radiotherapy (RT) plus concurrent TMZ in newly diagnosed glioblastoma.
Methods: This systematic review and meta-analysis was carried out in accordance with Cochrane methodology. Only prospective clinical trials randomly assigning adults with newly diagnosed glioblastoma after concurrent RT/TMZ to 6 cycles of adjuvant TMZ (control arm) or extended (>6 cycles) adjuvant TMZ (experimental arm) were eligible.
Purpose: There are sparse data in patients with human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-positive breast cancer with brain metastases from real-world settings, especially where access to newer targeted therapies is limited.
Methods: This was a single institution, retrospective cohort study of patients with HER2-positive breast cancer diagnosed between January 2013 and December 2017 to have brain metastases and treated with any HER2-targeted therapy. The main objectives were to estimate progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS) from the time of brain metastases.
Gene mutations causing loss of dystrophin result in the severe muscle disease known as Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD). Despite efforts at genetic repair, DMD therapy remains largely palliative. Loss of dystrophin destabilizes the sarcolemmal membrane, inducing mechanosensitive cation channels to increase calcium entry and promote cell damage and, eventually, muscle dysfunction.

Some of these tumors are de novo resistant to CDK4/6 inhibitors and others develop acquired resistance. Here, we show that p16 overexpression is associated with reduced antitumor activity of CDK4/6 inhibitors in patient-derived xenografts (n = 37) and estrogen receptor-positive breast cancer cell lines, as well as reduced response of early and advanced breast cancer patients to CDK4/6 inhibitors (n = 89).

Objective: Recently monkeypox cases have been reported from many non-endemic countries. The objective of this article is to bring out the epidemiology, mode of transmission, clinical features, genetic clades, and molecular properties of monkeypox virus.
Materials And Methods: A detailed literature review was conducted on monkeypox, using databases PubMed/Medline, EMBASE, PMC and Cochrane Library, for the period between 1985 to 2022.
Introduction And Importance: Splenic lymphangiomas are an extremely rare entity that is mainly diagnosed in children. They are often found in the neck and axilla region. Cystic lymphangioma in the abdomen is unusual and the spleen is an exceptional location for lymphangiomas.

Recent studies identified Cas13bt3 (also known as Cas13X.1) as a miniature Cas13 enzyme, which can be used for knockdown and editing of target transcripts in mammalian cells.

Present study investigates the chemopreventive potential of polymeric black tea polyphenols (PBPs)/thearubigins (TRs) in the hamster model of oral carcinogenesis as well as determine the effect of PBPs on EGFR and the molecular players in the EGFR pathway. In dose-dependent manner, pre and concurrent treatment with PBPs (1.

Patients And Methods: We manually extracted individual patient data (IPD) for progression-free survival (PFS) from published survival curves of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) that compared PARPi versus placebo as maintenance therapy in first-line treatment, for whole study populations and subgroups, based on BRCA1/BRCA2 mutation (germline and/or somatic) and homologous recombination deficiency (HRD) status, using WebPlotDigitizer software. The respective PFS curves for each study and combined population were reconstructed from extracted IPD.
Background: Many children would benefit from a diet richer in vegetables and fruit. 'Flavour School' is a programme of 'sensory food education', which aims to increase children's confidence and curiosity in exploring foods and flavours, especially vegetables and fruit. This study will conduct a cluster-randomised controlled trial to assess the outcomes of the Flavour School programme in primary school children aged 4-7 years.

This work is implemented for the management of patients with epilepsy, and methods based on electroencephalography (EEG) analysis have been proposed for the timely prediction of its occurrence. The proposed system is used for crisis detection and prediction system; it is useful for both patients and medical staff to know their status easily and more accurately. In the treatment of Parkinson's disease, the affected patients with Parkinson's disease can assess the prognostic risk factors, and the symptoms are evaluated to predict rapid progression in the early stages after diagnosis.

Objective: To examine within-area physician-level variations in decision-making in common clinical scenarios where guidelines specifying appropriateness or quality of care exist.
Design Setting And Participants: This cross-sectional study used 2016 through 2019 data from a large nationwide network of commercial insurers, provided by Health Intelligence Company, LLC, within 5 metropolitan statistical areas (MSAs).
Sequence-based neural networks can learn to make accurate predictions from large biological datasets, but model interpretation remains challenging. Many existing feature attribution methods are optimized for continuous rather than discrete input patterns and assess individual feature importance in isolation, making them ill-suited for interpreting non-linear interactions in molecular sequences. Building on work in computer vision and natural language processing, we developed an approach based on deep learning - Scrambler networks - wherein the most salient sequence positions are identified with learned input masks.

Diagnosing COVID-19, current pandemic disease using Chest X-ray images is widely used to evaluate the lung disorders. As the spread of the disease is enormous many medical camps are being conducted to screen the patients and Chest X-ray is a simple imaging modality to detect presence of lung disorders. Manual lung disorder detection using Chest X-ray by radiologist is a tedious process and may lead to inter and intra-rate errors.

The solid and liquid wastes generated from cassava-based industries are organic and acidic in nature, which leads to various global concerns-primarily global warming and biodiversity loss. But the conversion of these wastes into value-added products associated with environmental pollution control contributes to sustainable development. Generally, the thermochemical process such as pyrolysis and gasification and biochemical processes such as anaerobic digestion have been applied for the conversion of cassava waste into value-added products.

Considering this, we had conducted an audit of principal investigators (PI ') compliance for Continuing Review Application (CRA) submission timelines and decision taken on the lapses in the validity of IEC approval continuation.
Aim: The aim of this study is to assess the pre- and post-policy trends of non-compliance management of delayed CRA submission and compare the PI's compliance for submission of CRA between Investigator Initiated trial (IIT) and Pharma studies.
Anti-programmed death-1 (anti-PD-1) immunotherapy reinvigorates CD8 T cell responses in patients with cancer but PD-1 is also expressed by other immune cells, including follicular helper CD4 T cells (Tfh) which are involved in germinal centre responses. Little is known, however, about the effects of anti-PD-1 immunotherapy on noncancer immune responses in humans. To investigate this question, we examined the impact of anti-PD-1 immunotherapy on the Tfh-B cell axis responding to unrelated viral antigens.

However, vaccine hesitancy could reduce coverage and hinder herd immunity. People's intention to get vaccinated can be shaped by several factors, including risk perception which, in turn, is influenced by effect.

OP-101, a hydroxyl-polyamidoamine dendrimer--acetylcysteine conjugate that specifically targets activated macrophages, improves outcomes in preclinical models of systemic inflammation and neuroinflammation. In this multicenter, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, adaptive phase 2a trial, we evaluated safety and preliminary efficacy of OP-101 in patients with severe COVID-19.

Phosphorylation at Thr18 is crucial for the release of p53 from its negative regulator, MDM2. In stressed cells, CK1δ is responsible for phosphorylating Thr18, but requires Ser15 to be phosphorylated.
