Renal cell carcinoma uvula metastasis leading to airway compromise: an unusual site.

We present a case report of a gentleman presenting with a globular lesion arising from his uvula. Although elective admission was planned, he presented with airway compromise, and emergency excision was required. The patient had a background of metastatic clear cell renal carcinoma; histology confirmed the uvula lesion as a further secondary deposit.

Mesenteric Malperfusion in Acute Aortic Dissection: Challenges and Frontiers.

Malperfusion syndrome results from end-organ ischemia in the setting of an aortic dissection. Malperfusion syndrome can affect any vascular bed with mesenteric malperfusion (MMP) being the most challenging associated with a 3- to 4-fold increase in mortality in both acute type A and B aortic dissections. The incidence MMP is between 66% and 100% in different literature.

Guillain-Barré Syndrome presenting with bilateral facial nerve paralysis: a case report.

Bilateral paralysis of the facial nerve is a relatively rare presentation and often indicates a serious underlying medical condition. Guillain-Barré syndrome needs to be considered, among others in the differential diagnoses of such presentation. We present here the case of a 35 year old female who presented with bilateral facial nerve paralysis due to the Guillain-Barré syndrome.
