Hemisection: Partial preservation of compromised tooth.

One of dentistry's primary objectives is the long-term maintenance of teeth. Hemisection may be the best line of action when only one root is decayed and the other one is intact. This case report outlines and depicts a situation in which the deteriorated terminal abutment was part of a cantilevered fixed prosthesis.
