Here, we identified aglycone-type flavanones, such as hesperetin and naringenin, which were more abundant in the bioconversion of the CUP than in the ethanol extracts of the CUP. We found that the bioconversion of the CUP induced the canonical nuclear factor-κB pathway via degradation of IκB in Caco-2 cells.

Background: We aimed to investigate the prevalence of dysautonomia in complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) via the combined autonomic nervous system (ANS) function tests, including the deep breathing test (DBT), orthostatic test (OST) and sympathetic skin response (SSR).
Method: We retrospectively examined 263 patients who underwent the combined ANS tests to evaluate CRPS between August 2013 and December 2016. Based on the Budapest clinical criteria, patients were stratified into confirmed-CRPS or suspected-CRPS groups.
Purpose: We aimed to investigate the effect of a basal opioid infusion in fentanyl-based intravenous patient-controlled analgesia (IV-PCA) on postoperative opioid consumption, pain intensity, and occurrence of opioid-related side effects.
Patients And Methods: We retrospectively reviewed 2097 consecutive patients who received IV-PCA after elective general, thoracic, urologic, and plastic surgery under general anesthesia between June 2019 and October 2019. The patients were divided into two groups: IV-PCA with basal infusion (basal group) and IV-PCA without basal infusion (no basal group).

Palladium-cobalt-phosphorus (PdCoP) catalysts supported on carbon (Ketjen Black) were investigated as a cathode catalyst for oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) in high temperature proton exchange membrane fuel cells (HT-PEMFCs). The PdCoP catalyst was synthesized via a modified polyol process in teflon-sealed reactor by microwave-heating. From X-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopic analysis, the PdCoP catalyst exhibits a face-centered cubic structure, similar to palladium (Pd), which is attributed to form a good solid solution of Co atoms and P atoms in the Pd lattice.

Denosumab, a monoclonal antibody against the receptor activator for nuclear factor-kappa B ligand (RANKL), is a recently approved antiresorptive drug that suppresses osteoclast formation by targeting preosteclasts, in contrast to the traditional antiresorptive bisphosphonates that target mature osteoclasts. Osteonecrosis of the jaw (ONJ) is a well-known, if rare, side effect of bisphosphonate therapy; however, cases of ONJ have also been reported since 2010 in patients taking denosumab. We describe here a patient who developed ONJ while receiving denosumab; the pharmacokinetics of denosumab and bisphosphonates are discussed in the context of ONJ management.

Background: Dental injury as a result of oroendotracheal intubation during general anesthesia is very common. We report our experiences of using mouthguard to prevent dental injury during intubation based on our protocol.
Methods: This retrospective study enrolled patients referred for preanesthetic evaluation, those patients with a history of any of the dental treatments to their anterior teeth listed on our fabrication protocol from January 1, 2009 to June 30, 2010.
A vertically movable gate field effect transistor (VMGFET) is proposed and demonstrated for a micro-accelerometer application. The VMGFET using air gap as an insulator layer allows the gate to move on the substrate vertically by external forces. Finite element analysis is used to simulate mechanical behaviors of the designed structure.

Orthodontic extrusion is usually performed by means of a fixed orthodontic appliance that utilizes arch wire attached to adjacent teeth and transfers the desired force by elastic from the wire to the root. While Ir tends to favorably exist in the subsurface layers, the underlying Ir atoms are found to cause a substantial modification in the surface electronic structure. As a consequence, we find that the activation barriers of O/OH hydrogenation reactions are noticeably lowered, which would be mainly responsible for the enhanced ORR activity.
