The effort of incorporating therapeutic drugs with imaging agents has been one of the mainstreams of nanomedicine, which holds great promise in cancer treatment in terms of monitoring therapeutic drug activity and evaluating prognostic index. However, it is still technically challenging to develop nanomedicine endowing a spatiotemporally controllable mechanism of drug release and activatable imaging capability. Here, we developed a yolk-shell type of GSH-responsive nanovesicles (NVs) in which therapeutic drug (Doxorubicin, DOX) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) contrast agent (ultrasmall paramagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles, USPIO NPs) formed complexes (denoted as USD) and were encapsulated inside the NVs.

A gentle method is used to treat the precursor to induce the doping of SO and Ni. The doped SO induces the formation of oxygen vacancies and defects, which are beneficial for inhibition of the loss of O, stabilization of the structure, and amelioration of voltage decay, and the doped Ni increases the degree of lithium nickel mixing and significantly increases the midvoltage. After modification, the specific discharge capacity reaches 305.

Siglec-15 is an immunoreceptor that binds to its ligand to exert diverse functions in osteoclast development, bone resorption, and even tumor-associated macrophage-mediated T cell immunity. Siglec-15 is a highly conserved member of the Siglec family and is constitutively expressed in osteoclasts, macrophages and dendritic cells. The activation domain in Siglec-15 can transmit a positive signal to regulate osteoclastogenesis via the formation of a complex with DAP12.

The deployment of high-energy-density lithium-metal batteries has been greatly impeded by Li dendrite growth and safety concerns originating from flammable liquid electrolytes. Herein, we report a stable quasi-solid-state Li metal battery with a deep eutectic solvent (DES)-based self-healing polymer (DSP) electrolyte. This electrolyte was fabricated in a facile manner by in situ copolymerization of 2-(3-(6-methyl-4-oxo-1,4-dihydropyrimidin-2-yl)ureido)ethyl methacrylate (UPyMA) and pentaerythritol tetraacrylate (PETEA) monomers in a DES-based electrolyte containing fluoroethylene carbonate (FEC) as an additive.

NIR-II biological imaging (1000-1700 nm) has shown promise for deep tissue penetration, high spatial resolution, and low background noise. Among all the NIR-II probes, organic probes particularly attract huge attention due to their excellent stability and biocompatibility, which have the most potential for clinical translation. However, most previously reported organic NIR-II fluorescent agents often suffer from low quantum yields in aqueous solution.

Alcohol is a major cause of acute and chronic pancreatitis. There have been some recent advances in the understanding of the mechanisms underlying alcoholic pancreatitis, which include perturbation in mitochondrial function and autophagy and ectopic exocytosis, with some of these cellular events involving membrane fusion soluble N-ethylmaleimide-sensitive factor receptor protein receptor proteins. Although new insights have been unraveled recently, the precise mechanisms remain complex, and their finer details have yet to be established.

SNAP23 is the ubiquitous SNAP25 isoform that mediates secretion in non-neuronal cells, similar to SNAP25 in neurons. However, some secretory cells like pancreatic islet β cells contain an abundance of both SNAP25 and SNAP23, where SNAP23 is believed to play a redundant role to SNAP25. We show that SNAP23, when depleted in mouse β cells in vivo and human β cells (normal and type 2 diabetes [T2D] patients) in vitro, paradoxically increased biphasic glucose-stimulated insulin secretion corresponding to increased exocytosis of predocked and newcomer insulin granules.

In our previous study, we showed that B7-H3 played crucial roles in osteosarcoma (OS) development and might serve as a negative regulator of in osteoimmunology and help tumor cells escape immune surveillance. However, little is known about B7-H3 deficiency and its corresponding circRNA alteration or their relationship with osteosarcoma progression. Therefore, we established stable silencing of B7-H3 in OS cells and validated our results with western blotting and real-time PCR detection.
