Effects of novel lactoferrin peptides on LPS-induced alveolar bone destruction in a rat model.

To develop novel bovine lactoferrin (bLF) peptides targeting bLF-tumour necrosis factor (TNF) receptor-associated factor 6 (TRAF6) binding sites, we identified two peptides that could target bLF-TRAF6 binding sites using structural analysis. Moreover, another peptide that could bind to the TRAF6 dimerization area was selected from the bLF sequence. Background: Associating literature with pathways poses new challenges to the Text Mining (TM) community. There are three main challenges to this task: (1) the identification of the mapping position of a specific entity or reaction in a given pathway, (2) the recognition of the causal relationships among multiple reactions, and (3) the formulation and implementation of required inferences based on biological domain knowledge.

Reflecting this importance, it is one of the best-investigated signaling systems, both experimentally and computationally, and several computational models have been developed for dynamic analysis. A map of molecular interactions of the EGFR signaling system is a valuable resource for research in this area.
