Introduction: Head and neck paragangliomas (HNPGLs) are rare neuroendocrine tumors, which are mostly benign in nature. Amongst all genes, Succinate Dehydrogenase Subunit D () is the most commonly mutated in familial HNPGLs. In about 30% of HNPGLs, germline mutations in can also occur in the absence of positive family history, thus giving rise to "occult familial" cases.

Nano-sized carriers are widely studied as suitable candidates for the advanced delivery of various bioactive molecules such as drugs and diagnostics. Herein, the development of long-circulating stimuli-responsive polymer nanoprobes tailored for the fluorescently-guided surgery of solid tumors is reported. Nanoprobes are designed as long-circulating nanosystems preferably accumulated in solid tumors due to the Enhanced permeability and retention effect, so they act as a tumor microenvironment-sensitive activatable diagnostic.

Despite the high burden of household air pollution from biomass fuel in sub-Saharan Africa, the association of prenatal biomass fuel exposure and birth weight as a continuous variable among term births has not been extensively studied. In this study, our primary aim is to estimate the association between biomass cooking fuel and birth weight among term births in Kaduna, northwestern Nigeria. For replication, we also evaluated this association in a larger and nationally representative sample from the 2018 Nigerian Demographic and Health Survey (DHS).

This is the first histological and molecular analysis of two chondrosarcomas with target-like chondrocytes that were compared with a group of conventional chondrosarcomas and enchondromas. The unique histological feature of target-like chondrocytes is the presence of unusual hypertrophic eosinophilic APAS-positive perichondrocytic rings (baskets). In the sections stained with Safranin O/Fast green, the outer part of the ring was blue and the material in the lacunar space stained orange, similarly to intercellular regions.

Controlling photophysical properties is critical for the continued development of electroluminescent devices and luminescent materials. The preparation and study of novel molecules suitable as luminescent for the development of optoelectrical devices have recently received a lot of attention. Even though the as-triazine unit is a good building block for organic active substances, it is rarely used in this context.

Upstream crude oil production equipment is always exposed to destruction damagingly which is caused by sulfate-reducing bacterium (SRB) activities that produce HS gas, which leads to increased metal corrosion (bio-fouling) rates and inflicts effective infrastructure damage. Hence, oil and gas reservoirs must be injected with biocides and inhibitors which still offer the foremost protection against harmful microbial activity. However, because of the economic and environmental risks associated with biocides, the oil and gas sectors improve better methods for their usage.

In this manuscript, we report four series for 1,2,4-triazine derivatives as dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs). Density functional theory (DFT) methods via utilizing Becke's three-parameter functional and LeeeYangeParr functional (B3LYP) level with 6-31G (d, p) basis set to investigate their modeling molecular structures. Optimized molecular structures for studied molecular structures are obtained using the DFT/B3LYP/6-31G (d, p) method.

Optical and photophysical properties of 6-substituted-1,2,4-Triazine fluorescent derivative dye doped in silicate based sol-gel, homopolymer of methyl methacrylate (PMMA), and copolymer (MMA/diethylene glycol dimethacrylate) (DEGDMA) were investigated. The pores of different hosts and caging of the dye were found to effect on the parameters such as molar absorptivity, cross sections of singlet-singlet electronic absorption and emission spectra, excited state lifetime, quantum yield of fluorescence. The dipole moment of electronic transition, the length of attenuation and oscillator strength of electronic transition from So → S1 have been calculated.

This manuscript includes some photophysical parameters and some optical properties such as absorption and emission spectra of the (E, E)-2,5-bis (3,4-dimethoxystyryl) pyrazine (BDP) by applying sol-gel and copolymer matrices. The BDP molecular structure is incorporated in sol-gel matrix and copolymer of methyl methacrylate (MMA) and 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate (HEMA). In case of sol-gel matrix, the BDP molecular structure has higher quantum yield in addition to photostability maxima.

The study describes the synthesis, physicochemical properties, and biological evaluation of polymer therapeutics based on -(2-hydroxypropyl)methacrylamide (HPMA) copolymers intended for a tumor-targeted immuno-oncotherapy. Water-soluble linear and cholesterol-containing HPMA precursors were synthesized using controlled reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer polymerization to reach molecular weight about 2 × 10 g·mol and low dispersity. These linear or self-assembled micellar conjugates, containing immunomodulatory agent cucurbitacin-D (CuD) or the anticancer drug doxorubicin (Dox) covalently bound by the hydrolytically degradable hydrazone bond, showed a hydrodynamic size of 10-30 nm in aqueous solutions.
