This paper explores the underutilized educational potential of tumor boards as a platform for medical student education. Acknowledging the complexity and multidisciplinary nature of tumor boards, we propose 12 strategic interventions aimed at integrating undergraduate medical students into these meetings to enhance their learning experience. These strategies emphasize active student engagement, critical analysis, patient interaction, reflective practice, and the integration of digital learning tools, with a focus on fostering an in-depth understanding of team-based, patient-focused oncology care.

Patients And Methods: Patients with bladder cancer were invited to complete QoL questionnaires at 3-month intervals in the first year and yearly thereafter.
Objective: To present a series of case studies from our respective countries and disciplines on approaches to implementing the Planetary Health Education Framework in university health professional education programs, and to propose a curriculum implementation and evaluation toolbox for educators to facilitate the adoption of similar initiatives in their programs. We emphasize the importance of applying an Indigenous lens to curriculum needs assessment, development, implementation, and evaluation.
Methods: Case studies from Australia and United States were collated using a six-stage design-based educational research framework (Focus, Formulation, Contextualization, Definition, Implementation, Evaluation) for teaching planetary health and methods of curriculum evaluation.

The biosynthesis of the characteristic abyssomicin spirotetronate core occurs an enzyme-catalysed intramolecular Diels-Alder reaction, which proceeds one of two distinct stereochemical pathways to generate products differing in configuration at the C15 spirocentre. Using the purified spirotetronate cyclases AbyU (from abyssomicin C/atrop-abyssomicin C biosynthesis) and AbmU (from abyssomicin 2/neoabyssomicin biosynthesis), in combination with synthetic substrate analogues, here we show that stereoselectivity in the spirotetronate-forming [4 + 2]-cycloaddition is controlled by a combination of factors attributable to both the enzyme and substrate.

Here, we show that Raman spectroscopy (RS) can directly detect fumarate in living cells in vivo and animal tissues ex vivo, and that RS can distinguish between Fumarate hydratase (Fh1)-deficient and Fh1-proficient cells based on fumarate concentration. Moreover, RS reveals the spatial compartmentalization of fumarate within cellular organelles in Fh1-deficient cells: consistent with disruptive methods, we observe the highest fumarate concentration (37 ± 19 mM) in mitochondria, where the TCA cycle operates, followed by the cytoplasm (24 ± 13 mM) and then the nucleus (9 ± 6 mM).
