Studying the effects of self-paced concurrent high-intensity interval training and resistance training (HIIT-RT) on respiratory function, cardiopulmonary fitness and fatigue perception in patients with multiple sclerosis (PwMS). Twenty-three PwMS were randomized into a 12-week training group (three times per week) (TG, n = 11) or a control group (CG, n = 12). Lung function (spirometry), aerobic capacity (graded cardiopulmonary-exercise-testing) and perceived fatigue (Fatigue Severity Scale (FSS)) were evaluated pre- and post-intervention.

It is a rare, autosomal genetic disorder describing characteristic general, craniofacial, and oral manifestations. However, the detailed characteristics of this multisystemic disease have not yet been clarified due to its rarity and the limited number of cases described.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFTemporomandibular joint ankylosis is an important entity that dentists and maxillofacial surgeons should know about. It clinically manifests through a permanent limitation of mandibular movements coupled with mouth opening inferior to 3 cm. This serious pathology can have serious functional repercussions, such as mastication problems, speech troubles, eating disorders, and jaw growth hindrance, in addition to the psychological difficulties in coping with such a condition in daily life.

In order to detect other dental and jawbone abnormalities that could be associated with AI, a retrospective and analytic study was conducted comparing panoramic radiographs of AI and non-AI patients.
Material And Methods: Digital panoramic radiographs of 60 AI and 60 non-AI patients were examined.
Background: Enamel renal syndrome is a rare genetic disorder transmitted through an autosomal recessive mode. It is featured by a hypoplastic amelogenesis imperfecta, delayed tooth eruption, gingival fibromatosis, and nephrocalcinosis. The aim of this study was to describe clinically, radiologically, and histologically the main features of enamel renal syndrome and to point out the role of dentists in early diagnosing this genetic disease.

They are usually diagnosed by cardiologists and are managed following complementary examinations. In dental practice, panoramic radiograph is a basic examination frequently performed in first line.

Objective: The aim of the study was to describe epidemiological and clinical characteristics of patients with muscular adverse effects.
Inflammatory granuloma caused by a vegetable foreign body is a lesion that can develop in the oral cavity. It results from the implantation of vegetable matter, leading to an inflammatory reaction and the development of bone resorption. This case highlights the importance of clinicians' awareness regarding this uncommon disorder.

Antiepileptic therapy leads to seizure remission in most cases. However, some patients are resistant to treatment despite achieving high doses which can be explained by interindividual variability of antiepileptic drugs' metabolism.

In order to enhance the production of glucose oxidase (GOD), random mutagenesis of CTM 507 was performed using the chemical and physical mutagens: nitric acid and UV irradiation, respectively. The majority of the isolated mutants showed good GOD production, but only some mutants presented a significant overproduction, as compared with the parent strain. The selected mutants (19 strains), showing an overproduction larger than 200%, are quite stable after three successive subcultures.
