Background: In patients with pancreaticobiliary maljunction complicated by congenital biliary dilatation, the pancreatic enzyme flows back into the bile, leading to bile duct carcinogenesis. Although the biliary tract resection and reconstruction is well documented to decrease the rate of malignancy, cancer occurrence has been reported in the residual intrahepatic or intrapancreatic bile duct, even after resection. We report a case of multiple biliary tract cancers in the liver complicated by congenital biliary dilatation, whose tumor lesions were resected en bloc without disconnecting the biliary tract by simultaneous pancreatoduodenectomy and living donor liver transplantation.

In LaSrMnO, once the F ions are taken into the NaCl slabs in its crystal through the charging process, it forms two stable fluoride compounds, LaSrMnOF and LaSrMnOF, with the help of the Mn oxidation reaction. In these oxyfluorides, thermal vibrations of the F ions inserted are much larger, especially in the - plane, than along the axis.

However, there are no widely recognized anatomical landmarks to prevent POPF during LG. This study aimed to identify anatomical landmarks related to POPF occurrence during LG for gastric cancer and to develop an artificial intelligence (AI) navigation system for indicating these landmarks.

Methods: Sixty-seven patients with BCLC-C HCC who underwent curative LR were enrolled in this study. The patients were classified into two groups according to whether LR was performed before (n = 24) or after (n = 43) TKI approval ("beforeTKI" and "afterTKI" group, respectively).
The crystal structure and phase stability of a host lattice plays an important role in efficient upconversion phenomena. In stable hosts, lanthanides doping should not generally change the crystal structure of the host itself. But when phase of a system drastically changes after lanthanide doping resulting in multiple phases, accurate identification of upconverting phase remains a challenge.

This renders these junctions attractive device candidates for emerging technologies such as in-memory and neuromorphic computing. Here, the novel molecular design, device fabrication, and characterization of such resistive switching devices with a largely improved performance, compared to the previously published work are reported.

This sub-analysis of a randomized-controlled trial with an SGLT2i, luseogliflozin, and DPP-4is compared their effects on QOL and treatment satisfaction of patients.
Methods: This study recruited 623 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus who were drug-naïve or treated with antidiabetic agents other than SGLT2is and DPP-4is.
Background: Pallidal deep brain stimulation (GPi-DBS) is effective for treating myoclonus and dystonia caused by SGCE mutations (DYT-SGCE, DYT11). However, it is unknown whether GPi-DBS is effective for the treatment of myoclonus-dystonia which is not associated with the SGCE gene mutations. In this study, we investigated the efficacy of GPi-DBS in treating myoclonus-dystonia in SGCE mutation-negative cases.

However, death may occur at the early stages of treatment for wound healing, and aggressive treatment may limit the quality of life of such patients. In patients with CLTI undergoing endovascular therapy (EVT), the Wound, Ischemia, and foot Infection (WIfI) clinical stage, male sex, older age, non-ambulatory status, low body mass index, and dialysis have been reported as predictors of mortality risk.

The association between the noncanonical Wnt-signaling pathway and carcinogenesis in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is unclear. This study investigated the significance of ROR2 expression in HCC.

Taking advantage of the properties of high-entropy materials, we have designed a highly ion-conductive solid electrolyte by increasing the compositional complexity of a known lithium superionic conductor to eliminate ion migration barriers while maintaining the structural framework for superionic conduction. The synthesized phase with a compositional complexity showed an improved ion conductivity.

This study aimed to compare the overall efficacy and safety of DPP-4is and the SGLT2i luseogliflozin in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM).
Methods: Patients with T2DM who had not used antidiabetic agents or who had used antidiabetic agents other than SGLT2is and DPP-4is were enrolled in the study after written informed consent had been obtained.

Therefore, we created a cross-AI system that works with two different AI algorithms simultaneously, landmark detection and phase recognition. We assessed whether landmark detection was activated in the appropriate phase by phase recognition during LC and the potential contribution of the cross-AI system in preventing BDI through a clinical feasibility study (J-SUMMIT-C-02).

We report rarely performed abdominal LVA to treat a case of refractory ascites possibly caused by ligation of the thoracic duct and pleurodesis in a man aged 60 years requiring weekly ascites drainage. Ligation was abandoned because the leakage site was not determined.
