Deep-tissue solid cancer treatment has a poor prognosis, resulting in a very low 5-year patient survival rate. The primary challenges facing solid tumor therapies are accessibility, incomplete surgical removal of tumor tissue, the resistance of the hypoxic and heterogeneous tumor microenvironment to chemotherapy and radiation, and suffering caused by off-target toxicities. Here, sonodynamic therapy (SDT) is an evolving therapeutic approach that uses low-intensity ultrasound to target deep-tissue solid tumors.

This study tries to assess the scale of the double burden of malnutrition in a rural setting in India.
Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted on 337 pregnant women to assess the nutritional status of pregnant women using Body Mass Index and dietary intake.
Background: Hepatitis B virus infection is one of the major concerns in global health care. With a far-reaching health, social, economic impact, preventive strategies form the cornerstone of its management. Knowledge about vaccination status and protection rendered thereof would aid in more wholesome management among highrisk population groups like healthcare workers.

Nanotechnology is one of the most promising techniques for targeting the brain. However, the toxicity of metal nanoparticles is one of the biggest challenges to be studied.

Overactivation of the Transforming Growth Factor Beta (TGF-β) pathway is implicated in the pathogenesis of cytopenias in Myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) and Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). IOA-359 and IOA-360 are potent small molecule inhibitors of the TGF-beta Receptor type I kinase (TGF-βRI, also referred to as ALK5, activin receptor-like kinase 5) that abrogate SMAD phosphorylation in hematopoietic cell lines. Both inhibitors were able to inhibit TGF-β mediated gene transcription at specific doses.

Methodology: A cross-sectional analytical study was conducted between December and November 2022 on 450 children by multistage cluster sampling in the Ormanjhi block of Ranchi, Jharkhand.
Background: This study aims to address the lack of substantial evidence regarding the effect of COVID-19 on maternal and child health (MCH) services in India and also highlight the role of primary care physicians in maintaining essential services during a pandemic. While studies conducted worldwide and in India have examined the effects of COVID-19 on these services, a significant gap in robust evidence remains.
Methods: Forty-two districts were selected randomly from seven regional states of India.
In this Letter, we present an all-fiber bismuth (Bi)-doped germanosilicate fiber laser that is continuously tunable within the range of 1425-1475 nm, enabled by a tunable optical filter. A maximum output power of 86.4 mW was achieved at 1450 nm with a slope efficiency of 13.

Complexes 2, 3, and 4 exhibited distorted tetrahedral geometries, while complex 1 adopted a regular tetrahedral geometry. All these complexes displayed emission in the crystalline state, with complex 3 emitting in the yellow region and complex 1 and 4 in the blue region, while complex 2 gave a bluish-green emission.

This method is based on the measurement of a red shift of the LSPR band of α/CyD-AgNPs in the region of 200-800 nm. The color of α/CyD-AgNPs was changed from yellow to colorless by the addition of As(iii).

Despite various treatment options, a majority of NSCLC patients continue to experience disease progression and associated side effects, which are largely attributed to drug resistance, indicating the need for alternative strategies to combat this deadly disease. Among various applicable alternative approaches, repurposed drugs such as arsenic compounds have been shown to exert anticarcinogenic properties against NSCLC and possess the ability to overcome drug resistance mechanisms.

The repair of PQ is often difficult, and its durability is questionable; hence, preserving the PQ while volar plating distal radius fractures is advocated. Methods In this prospective randomised trial, 60 patients with a fracture of the distal end of the radius of AO-type (Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Osteosynthesefragen) 23 A2, A3, B1, B3, C1, and C2 were treated with volar plate fixation using either the PQ-releasing and repair approach (Group A, n = 30) or the PQ-sparing approach (Group B, n = 30), allowed by simple randomisation.

It affects 1% of the world population, affecting patients' mental health and quality of life. With all the improvement seen, conventional treatment methods-steroids, phototherapy, and immunomodulators-come with the limitations of being less effective, having more side effects, and low compliance.

The catalyst demonstrated over 90% yield in quinoline production under mild conditions, exhibiting excellent tolerance to various functional groups. The Cu/CeO2 catalyst, synthesized via a co-precipitation method, was thoroughly characterized through various techniques like PXRD, XPS, and AC-STEM.

We recently discovered that oncolytic herpes simplex virus engineered to disable tumor-intrinsic protein kinase R (PKR) signaling (oHSV-shPKR) could increase oHSV oncolysis and anti-tumor immune response. However, here we show that disabling tumor-intrinsic PKR signaling can also induce the activation of the indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase (IDO) signaling pathway.

The threats to chemical warfare-associated agents (CWA), including nitrogen mustard, are increasing, and no direct antidote is currently available to mitigate the deleterious cutaneous and systemic responses to prevent mortality. Though most of these agents act as alkylating agents, a significant knowledge gap exists in the molecular mechanisms of how these vesicants cause toxic effects. Studies, including ours, have shown that exposure to reactive oxygen species (ROS)-generating stimuli, including alkylating chemotherapeutic agents, and thermal burn injuries with ethanol produce the potent family of lipid mediators, Platelet-activating factor (PAF) agonists that induce local inflammation, and multi-system organ dysfunction (MOD).

Two major carcinogens in cigarette smoke, Nicotine-derived nitrosamine ketone, 4-(methylnitrosamino)-1-(3-pyridyl)-1-butanone (NNK) and benzo(α)pyrene (BaP) have not been tested in models that mimic inhaled exposure for prolonged periods of time.
Experimental Design: ICR mice were treated with intratracheal delivery of NNK and BaP (NB) for 18 months.
Death due to electrical injuries are a major health concern and has a high rate of morbidity and mortality. Electrocution death is defined as that occurring due to passage of electric current inside the body and is obviously a form of unnatural death. The cause includes ventricular fibrillation, paralysis of respiratory muscles and the central respiratory centre.
