Aim Dental light-curing units (LCUs) are used at Matsumoto Dental University Hospital (MDUH). However, the time of installation of the same type of light irradiator varies, which affects the output intensity of the LCU. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the performance of LCU with different output intensities by comparing the depth of cure (DOC) of resin-based composites (RBCs).

Background: Diversity in hemodynamics of adult congenital heart disease necessitates a case-by-case selection of appropriate surgical and anesthetic options. However, previous case reports regarding the management of laparoscopic surgery in adult patients with congenital heart disease are limited.

Succinylation-Alcian Blue Staining of Mucins on Polyvinylidene Difluoride Membrane.

Mucins are often stained with the basic dye Alcian blue, but mucins with a low acidic glycan content cannot be stained with it. Succinylation-Alcian blue staining is a method that temporarily modifies glycans with succinic acid to visualize mucins with low acidic glycan content. This method can be used to stain mucins on polyvinylidene difluoride (PVDF) membranes separated via supported molecular matrix electrophoresis (SMME) and mucins blotted onto PVDF membranes from gel electrophoreses.

Distinct bands of mucins cannot be banded using a gel electrophoresis based on a molecular sieving effect due to their very large molecular weight and remarkable diversity in glycosylation. This study aimed to elucidate the detailed EGCG sulfation process to better understand its phase II metabolism, a process required to maximize its health benefits. Results show that kinetic activity of sulfation in the human liver and intestinal cytosol is 2-fold and 60- to 300-fold higher than that of methylation and glucuronidation, respectively, suggesting sulfation as the key metabolic pathway.

TEAB possesses high polarity owing to its internal Lewis adduct structure, which is lost by hydrolysis to triethanolamine (TEA) with a lower dipole moment. Therefore, the hydration of the copolymers became unfavorable through the hydrolysis of the pendant TEAB to TEA, despite polyol formation, and through a hydrophobic interaction based on St moieties becoming alternatively dominant.
