Article Synopsis
  • Research indicates a link between ghrelin gene polymorphism and coronary artery diseases (CAD), prompting a study on this association in an Iranian population.
  • The study included patients with chest pain and CAD risk factors, using specific genetic tests to analyze the ghrelin gene and its variants.
  • Results showed higher serum levels of ghrelin in CAD patients and a significant association between heart failure incidence and ghrelin genotypes, suggesting that the CC genotype frequency correlates inversely with ghrelin levels.
