Aim: Hypothyroidism is created by disruption of thyroid hormone production, which can destroy the emotional, relational, social, and working life of patients if left untreated. Hypothyroidism has multiple etiologies. We evaluated the relationship of hematological parameters and inflammatory biomarkers with thyroid hormones to find the potential use of these items in patients screening and prognosis.

Background: Different biomarkers have been suggested as novel biomarkers of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) theragnosis. With the aim of having a better clinical management of COVID-19, we decided to determine the relationship between hematological, inflammatory, and novel biomarkers with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) immunoglobulin (Ig)M and IgG antibodies.

Methods: Blood samples from 127 confirmed COVID-19 patients aged 11-84 years old were collected and tested for SARS-CoV-2 IgM and IgG antibodies alongside with hematological, inflammatory, and novel biomarkers.

Nucleoporins (NUPs) are components of the nuclear pore complex (NPC) that participate in the nucleocytoplasmic transport of macromolecules as well as in many essential processes that may be led to carcinogenesis. We selected three expression profile microarray datasets from GEO and as well as TCGA data to identify differentially expressed NUPs genes in esophageal carcinoma. Our findings indicated that NUP133, NUP37, NUP43, NUP50, GLE1 and NDC1 are overexpressed in esophageal carcinoma, among which NUP50 and GLE1genes are reported for the first time in esophageal carcinoma.

Introduction: Parsley (Petroselinum crispum) has been traditionally used for the treatment of allergy, autoimmune and chronic inflammatory disorders. The present study aims to investigate the suppressive effects of parsley essential oil on mouse splenocytes and macrophages cells.

Methods And Materials: Parsley essential oil was harvested.

Dendritic cells (DCs) are the most important antigen presenting cells with potentially useful applications in cancer immunotherapy. Leukemic cells of patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) could be differentiated to DC-like cells possessing the ability of stimulating anti-leukemic immune response. Despite obvious progress in DC-based immunotherapy, some discrepancies were reported in differentiation potential of AML blasts from all patients toward DC like cells.

Dendritic cells (DCs) are the most powerful antigen presenting cells, capable of inducing T-dependent immune responses even in naive T cells. DCs are of special interest as cellular adjuvants for immunity induction in clinical settings and several methods for their generation and maturation are recently under investigation. The present study was set out to define the effects of PPD (Purified Protein Derivative), a mycobacterial extract used in the tuberculin skin test, on in vitro differentiation and maturation of human monocyte derived dendritic cells.
