Background & Objective: The objective of this study was to compare serum sirtuin 1 level in diabetic nephropathy patients with or without coronary artery disease. Methods: In this cross-sectional study, 108 diabetic nephropathy patients were included, among which 54 were diagnosed with coronary artery disease based on coronary angioplasty, lipid profile, drug details, and case history, while 54 were without coronary artery disease. Patients above 18 years with nephropathy, as per spot microalbuminuria test, were included.

Objectives: In conventional total knee arthroplasty (TKA), the distal femur valgus resection angle (DFVA) is decided either by measuring the specific resection angle for each patient on preoperative anteroposterior hip-knee-ankle (HKA) weight-bearing radiograph or using a fixed resection angle of five to seven degrees, when such facilities are not available. This study aims to measure the DVFA in TKA patients using preoperative HKA non-weight-bearing computerized tomography (CT) scanogram scout films and determine its relation with preoperative coronal plane lower-limb deformities.

In this work, a cascaded control strategy based on fractional-order fuzzy PD/PI (FOFPD/PI) is proposed for temperature control of the bioreactor. The FOFPI is used to control the ethanol concentration in the inner loop, while the FOFPD is used for temperature control of the bioreactor in the outer loop. Regulations can also reduce internal combustion engine vehicle's (ICEVs) emissions by mandating increased fuel economies or ethanol-gasoline mixes. Background: Poor health-related quality of life (HRQL) is common in heart failure (HF), but there are few data on HRQL in HF and the association between HRQL and mortality outside Western countries.

Methods: We used the Kansas City Cardiomyopathy Questionnaire-12 (KCCQ-12) to record HRQL in 23 291 patients with HF from 40 countries in 8 different world regions in the G-CHF study (Global Congestive Heart Failure). We compared standardized KCCQ-12 summary scores (adjusted for age, sex, and markers of HF severity) among regions (scores range from 0 to 100, with higher score indicating better HRQL).
