[Clinical features and morpho-functional changes in intact mucosa of young patients with stomach cancer].

Results of evaluation of clinical course and morpho-functional changes taking place in intact mucosa of young patients with gastric cancer are presented. The study included 66 patients, aged 18-35 yrs, treated at the Center's Clinic. The course of the disease was generally very rapid and masked as non-tumor process.

[Use of immunoglobulin E and pregnancy-specific beta-1-glycoprotein in differential diagnosis of bone malignancies].

Such factors as high levels of immunoglobulin E and pregnancy-specific 1-glycoprotein (PSG) appear as diagnostic criteria for both bone malignancies and acute hematogenous osteomyelitis. It was found that significant increase in blood-serum PSG in conjunction with lowered IgE is a marker of bone malignancy while decreased PSG and high IgE is that of acute hematogenous osteomyelitis.

[Endovascular laser irradiation of blood in the comprehensive treatment of stomach cancer].

The data on the treatment of 35 patients with gastric cancer (two groups) are presented. In group I, surgery and chemotherapy were given; in group II--intravenous helium-neon laser therapy as a component of complex treatment. Dynamic changes in hematological and immunological indices were investigated.

Health conditions among workers who participated in the cleanup of the Chernobyl accident.

People who took part in the Chernobyl accident cleanup have been registered upon their return to Kyrgyzstan since 1991, and their children since 1992. Later, citizens affected by the Semipalatinsk and Chelyabinsk contamination incidents were included for registration and health care purposes. The effects of the nuclear waste depositories in the Mailuu-Suu region were examined with the assistance of the Kansas University Medical Center (United States of America).

[The effect of a stay under central highlands conditions on the dynamic indices of the peripheral blood in children receiving treatment for cancer].

The study deals with the effect of rehabilitative treatment given at a medium altitude mountain resort on peripheral blood count in 54 children radically treated for cancer. Hemopoiesis was studied versus type of tumor, treatment modality and follow-up period. Disorders of hemopoiesis were identified in 45 out of 54 children examined.

[Ambulatory radiation therapy of malignant tumors in children].

The potentialities of outpatient radiotherapy for pediatric solid tumors were studied in 41 such cases. Gamma teletherapy was given from a Rokus installation. Radiation treatment was expected to induce serious complications in patients with the involvement of blood vessels, hollow organs and vertebra, the said side-effects requiring inpatient management.

[Ambulatory chemo- and radiotherapy in the complex therapy of nephroblastoma in children].

The paper discusses application of out-patient procedures for complex treatment of pediatric nephroblastoma. The data on 101 out-patients with nephroblastoma were analysed. Out-patient prophylactic chemotherapy was not accompanied by higher rates of toxic or side-effects.
