Aim: The aim of this study was to compare the accuracy of the angle made by Frankfort horizontal plane-occlusal plane on maxillary casts, mounted using the respective facebows on Artex Amann Girrbach and Hanau Wide-vue semi-adjustable articulators with cephalometrically derived Frankfort horizontal plane-occlusal plane angle as a control.
Subjects And Methods: Maxillary casts of 30 subjects were mounted on Hanau Wide-vue and Artex Amann Girrbach semi-adjustable articulators following facebow transfer using respective facebows. The Frankfort horizontal plane-occlusal plane angles of these casts were measured using Wixey's digital angle gauge.
Background: Selecting and replacing missing teeth to natural proportions and esthetic preference of a patient in the absence of pre-extraction records is a very challenging task. Although facial analysis and proportions are well discussed in many populations, none exists for the Thrissur, Kerala, population. A prosthodontic rehabilitation for Kerala patients relying on other racial norms may result in dissonant facial proportions.

Materials And Methods: CAD models of two different types of implant abutment connections, the passive fit or the slip-fit represented by the Nobel Replace Tri-lobe connection and the friction fit or active fit represented by the Nobel active conical connection were made. The stress distribution pattern was studied at different occlusal dimension.
Aims: The aim was to evaluate if any correlation exists between variation in angulation of Po-Na-ANS angle and relative parallelism of the occlusal plane to the different tragal levels of the ear in dentulous subjects.
Methodology: A total of 200 subjects were selected for the study. A custom made occlusal plane analyzer was used to determine the posterior point of the ala-tragal line.

Bone height restrictions are more common in the posterior regions of the mandible, because of either bone resorption resulting from tooth loss or even anatomic limitations, such as the position of the inferior alveolar nerve. In situations where adequate bone height is not available in the posterior mandible region, smaller lengths of implants may have to be used but it has been reported that the use of long implants (length ≥10 mm) is a positive factor in osseointegration and authors have reported failures with short implants. Hence knowledge about the stress generated on the bone with different lengths of implants needs scientific evaluation.

Unlabelled: Posterior denture teeth wear faster than the anterior teeth, causing occlusal prematurities and loss of vertical dimension of occlusion. The loss of vertical dimension of occlusion lays more stress on the anterior alveolar ridge, which in turn increases the rate of residual ridge resorption and causes loss of alveolar ridge height in the anterior segment and compromises esthetics. Hence it is important for the clinician to choose acrylic resin teeth with high wear resistance.
