Objectives: We aimed to describe Familial Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis (F-HLH) patients' clinical features, intensive care courses, and outcomes.
Methods: Multi-center retrospective cohort study of pediatric patients diagnosed with F-HLH from 2015 to 2020 in five tertiary centers in Saudi Arabia. Patients were classified as F-HLH based on their genetic confirmation of known mutation or on their clinical criteria, which include a constellation of abnormalities, early disease onset, recurrent HLH in the absence of other causes, or a family history of HLH.
Infections, with multidrug-resistant a, are a major concern in the pediatric intensive care unit, especially in immunocompromised patients. Some of these strains are resistant to all beta-lactams, including carbapenems, leaving very limited treatment options remaining. These options include aminoglycosides and colistin, both of which have poor pharmacokinetic profiles with significant toxicities.

Objective: Chylothorax complicates congenital heart disease (CHD) surgery and may be associated with significant morbidity. Etiology of chylothorax is multifactorial, and it has been associated with deep venous thrombosis and obstruction from central venous lines (CVLs) in patients without CHD. We sought to determine whether CVL insertion site was associated with the occurrence of chylothorax in infants after cardiac surgery.

Peritoneal dialysis (PD) is the RRT modality of choice in neonates with AKI after CPB, but continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) may be necessary if PD is ineffective or contraindicated. Vascular access is challenging in this population, in part, due to small central vein size that may preclude placement.

We describe a case of ischemia that developed after mechanical thrombectomy and stent placement in the venous anastomosis of a brachio- basilic arterio-venous graft. Subsequent investigations revealed that the stent had extrinsically compressed the adjacent brachial artery.
