However, the details concerning the conditions of milling and sintering for sintered alloys have rarely been reported. In this work, a series of CrMnFeCoNi alloys were fabricated by ball milling and spark plasm sintering for different periods.

Background: To clarify the clinical roles of changes in testosterone (T) levels with a cut-off level of 20 ng/dL as predictive factors for prostate cancer patients treated with degarelix acetate.

Methods: A total of 120 prostate cancer patients who received hormone therapies with gonadotropin-releasing hormone antagonist degarelix acetate were retrospectively analyzed. The predictive values of nadir T levels, max T levels, T bounce, and other clinical factors were evaluated for overall survival (OS), cancer-specific survival (CSS), and progression-free survival (PFS).

Aim: Medroxyprogesterone acetate (MPA) is one of the treatments of atypical endometrial hyperplasia (AEH) and endometrial cancer (EC) to preserve the fertility. Efficacy of MPA therapy and fertility and obstetric outcomes after remission were evaluated in EC or AEH patients.

Methods: Among patients diagnosed with EC or AEH at Tokushima University Hospital between January 2002 and October 2020, we retrospectively analyzed patients, ages range from 26 to 40, who underwent conservative management using MPA (400-600 mg/day).

Cellular senescence is defined as irreversible growth arrest induced by various stress, such as DNA damage and oxidative stress. Senescent cells exhibit various characteristic morphological changes including enlarged morphology. In our recent study, we identified Nectin-4 to be upregulated in cellular senescence by comparative transcriptomic analysis.

Phylogenetic Revisit to a Review on Predatory Bacteria.

Predatory bacteria, along with the biology of their predatory behavior, have attracted interest in terms of their ecological significance and industrial applications, a trend that has been even more pronounced since the comprehensive review in 2016. This mini-review does not cover research trends, such as the role of outer membrane vesicles in myxobacterial predation, but provides an overview of the classification and newly described taxa of predatory bacteria since 2016, particularly with regard to phylogenetic aspects. Among them, it is noteworthy that in 2020 there was a major phylogenetic reorganization that the taxa hosting and , formerly classified as , were proposed as the new phyla and , respectively.

Two cases of low back pain of unknown etiology diagnosed as multiple myeloma.

We report two cases of patients complaining of lumbar back pain of unknown etiology which were finally diagnosed as multiple myeloma. The first case was a woman in her 80s with a chief complaint of lumbar back pain. The second case was a male in his 70s.

Pregnant rats were divided into two groups: a maternal normal nutrition (mNN) and maternal undernutrition (mUN) group.

Background: Faculty evaluation surveys in the frame of student evaluation of teaching (SETs) are a widely utilized tool to assess faculty teaching. Although SETs are used regularly to evaluate teaching effectiveness, their sole use for making administrative decisions and as an indicator of teaching quality has been controversial.

Methods: A survey containing 22 items assessing demographics, perception, and factors for evaluating faculty was distributed to medical students at our institute.

Photosystem II (PSII) utilizes light energy to split water, and the electrons extracted from water are transferred to Q, a plastoquinone molecule bound to the D1 subunit of PSII. Many artificial electron acceptors (AEAs) with molecular structures similar to that of plastoquinone can accept electrons from PSII. However, the molecular mechanism by which AEAs act on PSII is unclear.

Currently, nurses periodically monitor the vascular access device (VAD) site and extremity for symptoms of swelling, blanching, and change in temperature. However, nurses are often unable to monitor the VAD site frequently enough to detect subtle symptoms that may present immediately following an infiltration or extravasation.

It has been well established that undernutrition and low energy availability disturb female reproductive functions in humans and many animal species. These reproductive dysfunctions are mainly caused by alterations of some hypothalamic factors, and consequent reduction of gonadotrophin-releasing hormone (GnRH) secretion. Evidence from literature suggests that increased activity of orexigenic factors and decreased activity of anorexigenic/satiety-related factors in undernourished conditions attenuate GnRH secretion in an integrated manner.
