Background And Purpose: The MR Parkinsonism index helps in differentiating progressive supranuclear palsy from Parkinson disease and multisystem atrophy. Pontomesencephalic involvement is common in neurologic Wilson disease, but there is no prior study evaluating the MR Parkinsonism index and its indices in Wilson disease. We report the MR Parkinsonism index and its indices in Wilson disease and correlate these changes with clinical severity and postural reflex.

Ipomoea aquatica Forssk. (Convolvulaceae) is an aquatic vegetable traditionally employed against toxic effects of xenobiotics. The present study has been designed to investigate the molecular mechanism underlying the beneficial role of the edible (aqueous) leaf extract of I.

Several studies reported the role of Gas6 in cancer, glomerular injury, obesity, and inflammation, however, very little is known about its role in insulin resistance (IR) and impaired glucose metabolism. Majority of the studies reported an inverse correlation of Gas6 protein levels or gene polymorphism with plasma glucose, HbA1c, IR, and inflammatory cytokines among type 2 diabetes (T2D) and obese subjects.

Objective: Refractory status epilepticus (RSE) can influence the outcome of status epilepticus (SE). In the present study, we report the aetiology and predictors of outcomes of RSE in a developing country.
Methods: This is a prospective hospital-based study of SE patients (continuous seizures for five minutes or more).
Advancement in science has tended to improve treatment of fatal diseases such as cancer. A major concern in the area is the spread of cancerous cells, technically refered to as metastasis into other organs beyond the primary organ. Treatment in such a stage of cancer is extremely difficult and usually palliative only.

A comparative study of the dosimetric features of α-Al2O3:C,Mg and α-Al2O3:C relevant to thermoluminescence dosimetry is reported. A glow curve of α-Al2O3:C,Mg measured at 1°C/s after beta irradiation to 1 Gy shows two subsidiary peaks at 42°C (labelled as I) and 72°C (II) and the main peak at 161°C (III) whereas a glow curve of α-Al2O3:C measured under the same conditions shows the main peak at 178°C (II') and a lower intensity peak at 48°C (I'). Apart from these ones, there are several other peaks at temperatures beyond that of the main peak in both α-Al2O3:C,Mg and α-Al2O3:C.

Patients And Methods:: Consecutive patients with AES were subjected to neurological evaluation including Glasgow Coma Scale, focal weakness, movement disorder, and reflex changes. The etiology of AES was based on blood and cerebrospinal fluid enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay and polymerase chain reaction.
Status epilepticus (SE) is an important neurological emergency. It is defined as seizures lasting for 5 minutes or more or recurrent seizures without recovery of consciousness to baseline between the attacks. Refractory SE (RSE) is defined as SE persisting despite sufficient dose of benzodiazepines and at least one antiepileptic drug (AED), irrespective of time.

Objective: To report the role of BE and its μ (MOR) and δ opioid receptors (DOR) in headache relief following high rate rTMS in migraine.
Methods: Ninety-three migraine patients having more than 4 attacks per month were included.
The diagnosis of idiopathic dilatation of pulmonary artery is challenging because its clinical recognition is difficult and various other causes of dilated pulmonary artery need to be excluded. The clinical findings mimic various common cardiac disorders and both invasive and non-invasive investigations should be done to arrive at the diagnosis. It is a known clinical entity but etiology and pathophysiology are largely unknown.

Methods: Patients with LOR-resistant SE were randomized to intravenous LCM 400 mg at a rate of 60 mg/kg/min or SVA 30 mg/kg at a rate of 100 mg/min. The SE severity score (STESS), duration of SE and its etiology, and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) findings were noted.

Network Alignment over graph-structured data has received considerable attention in many recent applications. Global network alignment tries to uniquely find the best mapping for a node in one network to only one node in another network. The mapping is performed according to some matching criteria that depend on the nature of data.

Objective: The study aimed to evaluate the frequency, severity, and causes of hyponatremia in stroke and its influence on outcome.
Materials And Methods: Consecutive computed tomography- or magnetic resonance imaging-proven stroke patients within 7 days of stroke were included. Severity of stroke was assessed using the National Institute of Health Stroke Scale and consciousness using the Glasgow Coma Scale.
There is paucity of studies on the role of glutamate excitotoxicity in cell damage in Japanese encephalitis. In this study the glutamate levels and its NMDA receptors, and oxidative stress markers in different brain regions have been evaluated and correlated with neurobehavioral changes at different time points. Twelve day old Wistar rats were inoculated with 3×10pfu/ml intracerebrally.

The present study is aimed at evaluating the incidence and course of CSA-AKI and its relationship with the different durations of cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) and cross clamp times.
Materials And Methods: Occurrences of CSA-AKI are evaluated as per the Akin Kidney Injury Network (AKIN) criteria over the course of 5 postoperative day (POD) in 100 patients.

Background: CVST (cerebral venous sinus thrombosis) may sometimes be associated with autoimmune disorders that require specific treatment. The clinical and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) findings of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) patients with CVST are presented and contrasted with CVST without SLE.
Methods: Consecutive patients with CVST admitted in neurology service during 2012-2016 were included.
Peptidoglycan (PG) is the key component of the bacterial cell wall. The enzyme UDP-N-Acetylglucosamine Enolpyruvyl Transferase (MurA) catalyzes the transfer of enolpyruvate from phosphoenolpyruvate (PEP) to uridinediphospho-N-acetylglucosamine (UNAG), which is the first committed step of PG biosynthesis. Here, we present the biochemical and structural features of the MurA enzyme of the opportunistic pathogen Acinetobacter baumannii (AbMurA).

Since CRC is largely asymptomatic until alarm features develop to advanced stages, the implementation of the screening programme is very much essential to reduce cancer incidence and mortality rates. CRC occurs predominantly from accumulation of genetic and epigenetic changes in colon epithelial cells, which later gets transformed into adenocarcinomas.
