Osteonecrosis of femoral head (ONFH) can be a debilitating disease, for which numerous salvage surgeries have been popularized to halt its progression. The aim of this study was to assess the clinical and radiological outcomes of a single-incision core decompression (CD) technique using trochanteric autograft in ONFH and to determine the prognostic factors of treatment success. Sixty-six hips (41 patients) of Association Research Circulation (ARCO) 1 and 2 ONFH undergoing CD were included in the study with a mean follow-up of 58 months.

The TME comprises various cell types within the extracellular matrix (ECM), such as immune cells, endothelial cells, and cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs). Throughout the malignancy, these cells interact with cancerous cells and with one another.

However, even studies have reported uncertain findings. The current meta-analysis aimed to assess the findings of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) on the efficacy of chia seed supplementation on blood pressure (systolic blood pressure [SBP], diastolic blood pressure [DBP]) and body composition (waist circumference [WC], weight, body mass index [BMI]) in adults.

The present study aims to provide an easy and reproducible technique for achieving calipered rKA-TKA (crKA-TKA) using routine instrumentation.
Method: A prospective study was conducted including 30 patients (30 knees).
Plethora of research has shed light on the critical role of synaptic dysfunction in various neurodegenerative disorders (NDDs), including Alzheimer's disease (AD), Parkinson's disease (PD), Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), and Huntington's disease (HD). Synapses, the fundamental units for neural communication in the brain, are highly vulnerable to pathological conditions and are central to the progression of neurological diseases. The presynaptic terminal, a key component of synapses responsible for neurotransmitter release and synaptic communication, undergoes structural and functional alterations in these disorders.

In spite of its success many patients suffer from post-operative pain especially in the early post-operative period. The study aimed to evaluate the pain relief and functional benefit of periarticular cocktail infiltration.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFBackground: The preferred procedure for end-stage arthritic knees is Total Knee Arthroplasty (TKA). Hidden blood loss during and after surgery is one of the most frequent side effects of TKA. This study aims to assess the impact of an extra intraoperative dosage of local periarticular tranexamic acid (TXA) on total blood loss and drain output following bilateral TKA in comparison to conventional triple dose IV TXA.

The increasing use of antibiotics and lack of stewardship have led to an increase in antibiotic-resistant pathogens, so the growing issue of resistance can be resolved by emphasizing chemically synthesized antibiotics. This study discovered SMJ-2, a synthetic indole derivative, is effective against all multidrug-resistant gram-positive bacteria.

Materials And Methods: Prospective observational study in 178 knees (178 individuals) was conducted on Magnetic Resonance Imaging scans (Axial section).
Diffusion in solids is a slow process that dictates rate-limiting processes in key chemical reactions. Unlike crystalline solids that offer well-defined diffusion pathways, the lack of similar structural motifs in amorphous or glassy materials poses great challenges in bridging the slow diffusion process and material failures. To tackle this problem, we propose an AI-guided long-term atomistic simulation approach: molecular autonomous pathfinder (MAP) framework based on deep reinforcement learning (DRL), where the RL agent is trained to uncover energy efficient diffusion pathways.

Inhibitors of such pumps could restore the activities of antibiotics and curb bacterial virulence. Here, we identify pyrrole-based compounds that boost antibiotic activity in Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa by inhibiting their archetype RND transporters.

The purpose of this study was to examine the effectiveness of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) for diagnosis of concomitant infection in children with septic arthritis of large joints and its effect on patient outcome and treatment.
Materials And Methods: Electronic literature research of PubMed, Cochrane and Scopus, was conducted in January 2022 using a combination of MeSH, search terms and keywords.
Aims And Objectives: Over the last decade, YouTube has been extensively used as a learning tool for both physicians and patients, but the reliability of this information remains questionable. The purpose of this study was to look for the reliability and quality of videos on tennis elbow arthroscopy on YouTube.
Materials And Methods: We used three search terms on YouTube "tennis elbow arthroscopic surgery," "Arthroscopic ECRB release," and "Arthroscopic debridement for tennis elbow," and screened the first 50 videos according to popularity.

The study is aimed to propose an integrative screening procedure for patients and to identify a subset of patients who are undernourished or at risk of undernutrition in the Indian population.
Methods: A hospital-based cross-sectional study was conducted at a tertiary care, a university-level teaching hospital for seven months, which included knee OA patients above the age of 45 years, and the following criteria were evaluated anthropometric measurement and blood biochemical parameters and nutritional scoring system.
Protrusio acetabuli, or abnormal protrusion of the femoral head into the acetabulum, requires performance of a total hip arthroplasty (THA) for which various reconstruction techniques and outcomes have been described. The aim of this systematic review is to provide a comprehensive analysis of the current evidence, evaluate treatment efficacy, compare surgical techniques, and identify topics for future research along with improving evidence-based decision-making, improving patient outcomes in the management of this condition. A thorough systematic review of the PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library databases, and Scopus library was conducted, and articles describing techniques of THA for treatment of protrusion acetabuli were extracted.

As we usher into the era of Individualized Anatomic Reconstruction, it is very important to understand the native anatomy of ACL. We aimed to assess the ACL footprint dimensions in our patients and correlate it with anthropometric variables, which can help in preoperative decision making.

While MoO is found to be an effective surface electron acceptor for hydrogen-terminated diamond with a negative electron affinity, the effects of commonly existing oxygen vacancies remain elusive. We have performed reactive molecular dynamics simulations to study the deposition of MoO on a hydrogenated diamond (111) surface and used first-principles calculations based on density functional theory to investigate the electronic structures and charge transfer mechanisms.

As the neutral weight-bearing axis of the lower limbs is restored with Total Knee Arthroplasty (TKA), ankle and hindfoot biomechanics also acutely change. This study aims to investigate whether any ankle clinical-radiographical changes occur as a result of bilateral mechanical TKA in patients with bilateral Osteoarthritis knee at a minimum follow-up of 6 months.

We evaluated this aspect in elective lower limb orthopaedic surgeries and compared it to conventional preoperative fasting.
Methods: Prospectively, we randomised 126 patients aged >60 years into two groups: (A) received reconstituted ORS (1000 mL) during the overnight preoperative fasting, continued up to 2 hrs prior to spinal anaesthesia (SA) induction; (B) kept on conventional overnight preoperative fasting.
