Objectives: Contemporary studies assessing the importance of the systemic immune-inflammation index (SII) in older patients presenting with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) are scarce. This study investigated the impact and prognostic value of the SII regarding long-term mortality in older patients with ACS.

Methods: The study included 401 older patients aged 75 years and above admitted with ACS between May 2015 and December 2022.

The Atherogenic Index of Plasma (AIP) is associated with coronary artery disease (CAD) and acute coronary syndrome (ACS), but the relationship between AIP and ACS in elderly patients remains unclear. We investigated the prognostic capability of AIP for in-hospital and long-term mortality in elderly patients with ACS undergoing coronary angiography (CA). We analyzed 627 patients with ACS over 75 years of age who were admitted to our clinic between April 2015 and December 2022 and underwent CA.

Objectives: Although the association of Atherogenic index of plasma (AIP) with coronary artery disease (CAD) and atherosclerosis is known, the relationship between AIP and in-stent restenosis (ISR) remains unclear. We aimed to investigate the relationship between AIP and ISR in patients with stable angina pectoris (SAP) treated with drug-eluting stent (DES).

Methods: Patients with a history of DES implantation following stable angina were evaluated between January 2015 and November 2019 in this observational and retrospective study.

Objective: Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is considered to deteriorate endothelial function through hyperinflammation. We aimed to investigate microvascular dysfunction using the angiographic parameters thrombolysis in myocardial infarction frame count (TFC) and myocardial blush grade (MBG), in COVID-19 patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS).

Methods: One hundred and sixty-five patients presented with ACS (62.

Objectives: Arrhythmias are the common, potentially lethal, and treatable complication of acute coronary syndrome (ACS). Arrhythmic findings of ischemic cardiac events are well-known, but long-term results have not been scrutinized. In the study, we aimed to analyze the long-term findings of the atrioventricular block (AVB) in ACS patients.

Objectives: Mad-honey intoxication (MHI) often presents with all kinds of bradyarrhythmias. Despite numerous publications focused on clinical findings, we aim to evaluate poor prognostic implications, ischemia likely electrocardiography (ECG) changes, and detailed ECG findings of MHI in the largest series.

Methods: This is a retrospective single-center study of 117 MHI patients admitted to emergency service.

Background: We aimed to investigate the accuracy of four algorithms in prediction of right ventricular outflow tract (RVOT) tachycardias in patients who successfully underwent radiofrequency catheter ablation.

Methods: Four algorithms; two with easy-applicability and having a memorable design (Dixit and Joshi), and two with more complex and detailed design (Ito and Zhang) were compared according to the predictive accuracy.

Results: Among 99 patients (mean age 36.

Objective: Despite recent advances in medical support and interventions, only 5% to 10% of patients with out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) survive to discharge. In this study, factors related to neurologically favorable survival in patients with OHCA were analyzed.

Methods: A total of 129 patients who were admitted to hospital with OHCA were retrospectively enrolled.

Background: We aimed to investigate the usefulness of monocyte to HDL cholesterol ratio (MHR) in predicting coronary artery disease severity and future major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) in patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS).

Methods: 2661 patient with ACS were enrolled and followed up during median 31.6 months.

The value of FDG-positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) for detecting prostate cancer is unknown. We aimed to investigate the clinical value of incidental prostate FDG uptake on PET/CT scans. We reviewed 6128 male patients who underwent FDG-PET/CT scans and selected cases that reported hypermetabolic lesion in the prostate.

Objective: The aim of this research was to assess the relationship between mitral annular calcification (MAC) and whole blood viscosity (WBV).

Subjects And Methods: A total of 184 patients with MAC and 133 patients without MAC were enrolled in the study. The WBV was calculated with a confirmed formulation using the hematocrit and total plasma protein at a low shear rate (LSR) and high shear rate (HSR).

Introduction: It is important to know the size of the thyroid gland, and its normal value may vary among different geographic regions.

Objective: In this study, we aimed to establish reference ranges for thyroid volume in euthyroid adults and to compare these results with the literature data.

Methods: Between June 2011 and June 2012,461 patients with normal laboratory results (serum TSH, anti-TG, anti-TPO antibodies and urine iodine level) that underwent thyroid gland ultrasound examination were retrospectively analyzed.

We aimed to evaluate the diagnostic and preoperative localization capacity of 99mTc methoxyisobutylnitrile (MIBI) parathyroid scintigraphy and ultrasonography (USG) in enlarged parathyroid glands in the primary hyperparathyroidism (pHPT) as well as the relationship between the success rate of these techniques and biochemical values. In this study, we retrospectively evaluated 39 patients with clinical and biological evidence of pHPT who referred to the university hospital for MIBI parathyroid scintigraphy. Patients were examined with USG and double-phase MIBI parathyroid scintigraphy for the detection of enlarged parathyroid glands.

Objective: Fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography/computed tomography imaging in the follow-up of patients with differentiated thyroid carcinoma who have high serum thyroglobulin, negative iodine-131 whole body scan and suppressed thyrotropin.

Patients And Methods: A total of 90 patients (31 male and 59 female) with differentiated thyroid carcinoma who have high serum thyroglobulin and negative iodine-131 whole body scan were included in the study between July 2006 and March 2014. All patients had undergone surgery (total thyroidectomy ± lymph node dissection) followed by iodine-131 ablation.

Colorectal cancer is a significant cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide. The advances in early diagnosis and treatment have increasingly expanded the patient population surviving from colorectal cancer. Herein, we present a case of a patient with mediastinal ectopic parathyroid adenoma who has been followed up for postoperative colon cancer.

We present the case of a 58-year-old, postsurgical breast cancer patient who was examined for routine controls at the Oncology Department of Namik Kemal University, Tekirdag, Turkey. She was referred to the nuclear medicine department for possible metastatic spread to the skeleton; 740 MBq of methylene diphosphonate tecnetium 99m ([Tc-99m] MDP) was injected intravenously, and 3 hours later a whole-body bone scan was performed. The whole-body bone scan showed no abnormal uptake associated with bone metastases, but in the anterior projection images, an area of mildly increased technetium 99m methylene diphosphonate uptake was seen in the right pelvic region.

Introduction: The assessment of the postoperative viability of vascularized and non-vascularized grafts used in the reconstruction of mandibular defects due to trauma and surgical reasons is a major problem in maxillofacial surgery.

Aim: In the present study, we evaluated the feasibility and image quality of blood-pool SPECT, which is used for the first time in the literature here in the assessment of mandibular reconstruction, in addition to non-invasive bone scintigraphy and bone SPECT. We also evaluated whether it would be useful in clinical prediction.

Axillary metastasis is not a common finding in papillary carcinoma. 18F-FDG can detect foci of metastasis in patients with negative 131I scan. We report a case of a 64-year-old man who had undergone thyroidectomy and 131I ablation due to classic type of papillary carcinoma 14 years ago.
